And they're hitched! Kim Kardashian tied the knot with her beau, Kris Humphries, in a lavish affair on Saturday, August 20. The guest list was a virtual who's who of Hollywood's A-listers, while the decor and gowns couldn't have been more spectacular. Let's get right to it:
Kim reportedly wore not one, not two, but three original Vera Wang creations. According to a press release, the first gown was an ivory ballgown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand piece Chantilly lace applique on the bodice and (very long!) train. Kim's second dress was an ivory georgette mermaid gown with hand pieced Chantilly lace applique on the bodice. The skirt had hand cut organza petals mixed in with a Chantilly lace motif and organza sprig embroidery. And the third gown was an ivory bias-cut crepe back satin gown with a V-neck and circle skirt.
Guests were given a strict guest code to wear only black and white to the wedding -- no exceptions, it seems, even when it came to the bridesmaids attire. Each of the bridesmaids wore a custom Vera Wang gown that was strapless, mermaid cut and asymmetrically draped with silk organza. Kris, Kim's mother, also wore a strapless white slim-fitting gown with an over-sized bow across the front (nearly upstaging the bride, some guests said!).
The couple exchanged vows in Montecito (at the same venue that would have held Ben Affleck's wedding to Jennifer Lopez) at 6:30 in front of guests that included Eva Longoria, Mel B from the Spice Girls, Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough, George Lopez, Ciara, Cheryl Burke, Demi Lovato, Lindsay Lohan, Mario Lopez, Avril Levigne and Serena Williams, among others, reports the Daily Mail. As she walked down the aisle, Kim wore the veil off her face, as her step dad Bruce Jenner escorted her, and instead donned a diamond headpiece with crystals the "dripped on to Kim's forehead," according to E! online. Kim also wore Guiseppe Zanotti shoes and exchanged custom rings designed by her good friend, Lorraine Schwartz, who also designed her stunning 20 carat engagement ring.
The groom, Kris Humphries, wore a white peak lapel tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo pants with a white shirt and white bow tie by Ermenegildo Zegna. According to guests, Humphries whispered to his new brothers-in-law, Rob Kardashian and Lamar Odom, "I'm nervous," as he arrived at the altar. Kim and Kris each took moments in the ceremony to remember his grandparents and Kim's late father, Robert Kardashian.
Following the ceremony, the party moved to a separate tent, where the bride changed into her second Vera Wang gown. Soul singer Robin Thicke introduced "Mr. and Mrs. Humphries" for the first time and sang their first dance, "Let's Stay Together."
Guests were also subjected to strict security measures upon arrival. Their cell phones and cameras were taken away, and they had to walk through security metal detectors before entering the lavish wedding. Guests began arriving at the ceremony 90 minutes prior to the start in black-out shuttle buses. Kim was spotted leaving the Four Seasons hotel earlier in the day at 12:30 wearing a white hoodie with "Mrs. Humphries" emblazoned on the front in crystals.
Stay tuned for more details as they emerge....
