Dream Wedding Bride: The Drinks

Nuvo_580

Not only did guests dine on some of the finest cuisine from The Catered Affair, but the Us Weekly and WeddingChannel.com dream wedding guests also sipped and toasted with some incredible cocktails. Guests had signature cocktails mixed with Nuvo Sparkling Liquer, which is a blend of French vodka and sparkling white wine with an infusion of passion fruit nectar (above left photo). But the special drinks didn't end there. Guests also toasted the newlyweds with Banfi's Rosa Regale, an Italian rose sparkling wine. Both of the drinks added to the overall glamorous (and pink!) wedding, Pamela and Joshua wanted.

Dream Wedding Bride: Ceremony Musicians

Dreamwed_bride_blog

One of the things I've always loved about wedding ceremonies is the gorgeous music that plays as the bride walks down the aisle. To help us create our romantic wedding atmosphere this weekend, we have the pleasure of working with Intermezzo Chamber Players (photo below). It's thanks to their strings accompaniment that our wedding ceremony will really have that elegant feel. I can't wait to hear the music as I walk down the aisle, I know it's going to be so exciting and emotional.

This might be the last blog post now, until after the wedding -- but don't worry, I'll be back then with lots more to say about how the big day went.

Dream Wedding Bride: Day Of
Hair and Makeup

Dreamwed_bride_blog

So, as you might recall from an earlier post, I had a hair and makeup trial with the fabulous Paul Labrecque. But for my day-of pampering -- it gets even better.

My bridesmaids and I will be extra glamorous for the wedding thanks to help from Salon Capri. They've worked fashion shows in New York and Paris -- so I'm sure a wedding will be a piece of cake for them!

Based in Massachusetts, their 3,200 square foot Legacy Place salon in Dedham (photos below!), offers everything to make a girl feel beautiful -- cutting, coloring, waxing, facials, manicures, pedicures, and even makeup. They've been around since 1967, so it's clear they know what they're doing. I can't wait to see how they recreate the hairstyles we've discussed.

Dream Wedding Bride: Let's Talk Entertainment

Dreamwed_bride_blog

Well the wedding is nearly here -- happening on Sunday! -- and I couldn't be more excited. There are just a few more details of the wedding to fill you in on before it happens.

For our reception, we're going with the fabulous DJ Mike Amado of Entertainment Specialists. He's worked with some of the biggest names in the biz including Jennifer Hudson, Steven Tyler, Queen Latifah, and Michael Bolton -- so I know he'll keep our guests out on the dance floor all night long (just check out the photos below)! He'll be playing top 40 party music and some classic favorites for us at the reception. He really is one of the best DJ's around. Mike says, "My music knowledge spans from hip hop to swing and everything in between! I juve love music!" we can't wait to hear what he has in store for us on Sunday.

Here's the breakdown of some of the biggest songs we'll be dancing too:

First Dance Song: "At Last," by Etta James (always a classic!)

Father/ Daughter: "My Little Girl," by Tim McGraw (so sweet)

Mother/ Son: "Forever Young," (piano version) by Rod Stewart (very sentimental)

Last Dance: "Save the Last Dance," by Michael Buble (a personal fave!)

What do you think of our music choices?

Dream Wedding Bride: Our Venue
and Catering!

Dreamwed_bride_blog

We've waited long enough to reveal this and we won't keep you in suspense any longer (drumroll please...): This weekend, we'll be tying the knot at the Boston Public Library. Go ahead, be a little jealous.

This venue has everything that a bride could wish for from gorgeous ball rooms and breathtaking outdoor spaces, plus some serious history and that vintage vibe we all crave. The entire space is so unique and ornate, it's really unlike anything else in Boston. For our Dream Wedding, we'll be utilizing the Abbey Room for our ceremony and for dancing later on, the Bates Hall for dining (first row photos below) and the Chauvannes Gallery for our cocktail hour (second row of photos).

And if you recognize any of those photos, it's probably no surprise why. The Boston Public Library has been the scene for some amazing films, including Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's flick "Knight and Day." It also served as a crime scene for the 2007 film, "The Pink Panther," and even made an appearance in the Adam-Sandler produced film, "Zookeeper." Needless to say, it's a venue fit for an A-lister. Check out the photos below!

But it hardly stops there. To go with a gorgeous venue like this, we also need some amazing food. The Catered Affair will present gourmet dishes to our guests on the night of the wedding. They cater at Boston's most elite venues and I have no doubt the food will be divine. Just check out the photos below!

I can't believe how lucky we are -- and it's all coming together in less than a week. What do you think of our venue?

Dream Wedding Bride: The Bridal Suite

Dreamwed_bride_blog

As if things couldn't get better, Josh and I found out where we'll be staying for our first night as a married couple. The Hyatt Regency in Boston has ah-mazing rooms, plus gorgeous terraces and it's right in the heart of downtown.

We have to admit, it would be pretty tempting to have a wedding here too. they have two outdoor terraces, plus ballrooms adorned with luxurious fabrics, sparkling china, crystal chandeliers and service to make you feel like a princess. The grand ballroom is 5,046 square feet -- so there's plenty of room for dancing and dining.

We couldn't be happier staying here (I mean, just check out the photos below) -- but I am curious -- have any of you ever stayed at this hotel before? (Or had your wedding there?) What's it like? Tell me below!

Dream Wedding Bride: Flowers Galore!

Dreamwed_bride_blog

If there's one thing that can make or break an amazing wedding, in my opinion, it's the flowers. Floral decor can really help set the mood, enhance the color scheme and tell so much about the bride's personality. For our wedding, we're lucky enough to be working with Hilary Kemp of Stem Design. I know what they'll be putting together for us will be simply amazing.

After meeting with Hilary, she described our event as "ethereal, feminine and timeless: A Modern Romance." I couldn't say it better myself! that's exactly the look that we're going for.

"This translated into a palette of soft pink and creamy white rose, hydrangeas and Queen Anne's lace. A hint of contemporary design aesthetic was integrated with the classic wedding florals through the composition of the arrangements and the styling of the bouquets," Hilary explained.

She went on to say later that she loves "partnering her design aesthetic with the clients' expectations in order to create the perfect look for their big event." Her background in architecture gives her a unique approach to floral design and really means that she pays attention to all of the details. "I bring this design philosophy to my work for every event," Hilary says.

Check out some of her recent work in the photos below. We just can't wait to see the flowers that she'll be putting together for us on the wedding day!

Dream Wedding Bride: The Wedding Cake

Dreamwed_bride_blog

For a lot of brides -- the wedding cake isn't just about having a sweet treat before you hit the dance floor. It's symbolic: you're sharing your first meal together as a married couple, but it's also the focal point for one of those major wedding moments where you cut the cake and share a slice.

That's why I'm so thrilled we'll be using Cupcakes Couture who created a custom designed five tiered wedding cake just for us. And though you probably guessed from the name that they also make delicious cupcakes, this company is no stranger to A-list catering. They've done parties for Kanye West, the Pussycat Dolls, the cast of "The Hills," and Demi Lovato, just to name a few. Our cake (drawing below) will include ivory fondant and ivory lace on the border of each tier -- it's so elegant and feminine, I almost don't want to eat it! We'll be topping our cake with ivory, blush and pink flowers instead of a traditional cake topper. And while something like this would normally cost about $5,000, for us, it's all just part of the prize!

What do you think of our cake? What would your dream wedding cake look like? Weigh in below!
