Hugh Hefner's Fiance's Engagement Ring

Hugh_hefner_ring_580

Earlier we reported that Hugh Hefner has gotten engaged to his 24-year-old girlfriend, Crystal Harris -- and now, there are ring photos to prove it, reports Us magazine.

The former Playmate released a photo of her diamond stunner via Twitter along with the message "For those of you who have been asking to see my ring here it is... My engagement ring from my love."

The ring looks to be a brilliant round diamond set on a pave diamond band with a six-prong setting. No word yet on when the wedding will be.

Reese Witherspoon's Engagement Ring

Reese_ring_250

Reese Witherspoon's new fiance, Jim Toth, didn't spare a thing when it came to picking out the right engagement ring for his bride-to-be.

The unique ring is a 4-carat Ashoka cut diamond, reports People.com. The diamond is set on a pave diamond-and-platinum band, giving the ring an elegant, but retro feel (and totally following one of the engagement ring trends we've mentioned before). The Ashoka cut, which has 62 facets, is especially rare, with less than 10% of rough diamonds cut in this shape in each year.

The Oscar-winning actress quietly began dating Jim, 40, last January and the two quickly became serious about one another, reports People.com. Insiders also revealed that Jim had bonded with Reese's kids, Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, who she had with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillipe. Reese split from Ryan in 2006 after seven years of marriage.

Next on the Royal Wedding Guestlist: Snipers?

Testino_250

Could the next people invited to the Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding be sharp shooters? That's what Britain's Mirror is reporting.

According to the British tabloid, SAS snipers will go undercover at the wedding in a major counter-terror offensive. Control of the streets will remain with senior officials from Scotland Yard, but the elite SAS soldiers will work alongside Afghan war veterans from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment to blend in and spot potential attacks on the big day. The experts will also point out potential weak spots along the wedding processional route ahead of time and work to increase security in those areas.

A senior security source told the tabloid on Wednesday that the snipers, "are a vital addition to the police-led operation to ensure as little risk as possible from a terror attack on the wedding day."

We know you have plenty to deal with when it comes to your wedding day, but we're guessing that no future-mother-in-law from hell can really come close to national security issues, right?

Engaged! Jason Mraz, Lily Allen, Natalie Portman, and LeAnn Rimes

Leann_lily_580

We know it's officially engagement season -- but this year celebs seem to have gone a little overboard! Just check out all the recent engagements that have happened this holiday season.

Jason Mraz has announced his engagement to girlfriend Tristan Prettyman, reports Us magazine. The 33-year-old singer announced his good news via Twitter on Thursday with a simple, "SHE SAID YES." Tristan also followed up with her own Tweet, saying, "man of my dreams!!! for the rest of my life!!!"

Meanwhile British songstress, Lily Allen, has also announced her engagement to builder and decorator Sam Cooper, reports the Daily Mail. Sam, who has been dating Lily since July 2009, proposed while the two were on a recent holiday in Bali. Says one onlooker, "Lily was telling everyone that she and Sam had just got engaged -- they could not keep the smiles off their faces. It couldn't have been more romantic. The resort is just so peaceful and picturesque."

And People.com has all the details on LeAnne Rimes gorgeous 5-carat oval diamond ring. The country singer, who split from her husband last year to be with actor Eddie Cibrian, showed off the ring in photos snapped of the two in Malibu on Monday. The ring also includes single cut pave diamonds and tiny rose cut diamonds set in rose gold fleur-de-lis that are connected to the band. Brent Polacheck, the jeweler who designed the ring, and a childhood friend of Eddie's, said that LeAnne didn't have too much involvement. "Le[Ann]'s participation in the design was solely regarding the Fleur de Lis. She had her heart set on having that incorporated in the ring. Other than that, Eddie and I sat down multiple times and worked on the rest of the details," he tells People.com.

And Black Swan star Natalie Portman is engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millepied, her reps confirmed to People.com last week. The 29-year-old actress is also expecting her first child with Benjamin. "I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience," Natalie told Entertainment Weekly in a statement.

Hugh Hefner Engaged!

Hugh_Hef_200

The man behind the Playboy empire is engaged once again, he confirmed via Twitter on Monday.

Hugh Hefner proposed on Christmas Eve to his 24-year-old girlfriend Crystal Harris, reports MTV.com. Hugh posted on his web page, "After the movie tonight, Crystal and I exchanged gifts. I gave Crystal a ring. A truly memorable Christmas Eve... When I gave Crystal the ring, she burst into tears. This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory." This will be the third marriage for the 84-year-old media mogul.

Crystal met Hugh in 2008 at the Playboy Mansion during one of the magazine's notorious Halloween parties. She went on to be named Playboy's December 2009 Playmate. Unafraid of critics, Crystal has even broached the subject of their 60 year age difference. The model has said, "A lot of people talk about the age difference between Hef and I, but I don't see the age difference at all. If anything, I feel like I'm the adult and Hef's the kid." She also insisted that she's not into Hef for his money. "I have my own career going," she says.

Prince William's Cousin Zara Phillips Engaged!

ZaraPhillips_580

Prince William could soon be hearing wedding bells -- and this time they won't be his own. Zara Phillips, the cousin to the Prince, has announced her engagement after a sever year romance to rugby player Mike Tindall, reports the Daily Mail.

The couple first fell for each other after meeting in a Sydney bar during the 2003 Rugby World Cup, and have been living together in Gloucestershire for several years. Mike proposed at home on Monday evening with what seems to be about a 2 carat brilliant cut diamond set on a double band of pave diamonds.

Though they haven't officially set a date yet, sources say they will tie the knot next year -- meaning there could be two royal weddings in one year. In a statement released yesterday afternoon, Zara said, "I was really shocked when Mike proposed but I am very happy." Mike added, "I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me. We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together."

Zara, an international event rider, is not a Princess and does not take the title Her Royal Highness because her mother decided she wanted her children to have more normal lives. she is not required to perform royal duties and instead makes her own money and keeps a lower profile overall. Just in case you're having trouble keeping it all straight: Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne, and therefore granddaughter to Queen Elizabeth (which means her maternal uncle is Prince Charles, making William and Harry are her first cousins).

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace released a statement Tuesday, saying, "The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are delighted."

It's been a hard couple of years for country singer Shania Twain -- but now things are starting to look up. Shania announced Tuesday on her website that she is happily engaged to Swiss businessman Frederic Thiebaud, reports People.com. Frederic is the former husband of the woman (Marie-Ann) who allegedly broke up Shania's first marriage (to producer Robert "Mutt" Lange), however Shania's ex-husband has denied there was an affair.

Shania released a statement on her website saying she has a "renewed faith in love and commitment" and thanked all of the friends and family members who have stood by her throughout the years. Shania went on to say she was "optimistic about the future" and is "looking forward to what the new year has in store and to sharing it with you."

Meanwhile, rocker-turned-reality-TV-star, Bret Michaels, has finally decided to put aside his rock star ways -- and get married! The Poison lead singer proposed to his girlfriend of 16 years, Kristi Gibson, reports People.com. Bret proposed on the season finale of his newest reality TV show, Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It. Royal Wedding: Wedding Memorabilia Now on Sale

KateWill_memorabilia_300

If you've been waiting to snag a commemorative plate or pillbox -- the time has finally arrived. Starting today, you can purchase William and Kate commemorative tchotchke, reports the Washington Post.

Memorabilia is available through The Official Royal Collection Shop. So far, there's only a plate, pillbox and tankard, but more is sure to be on the way as the wedding approaches. For now, the site says:

"Each piece bears the couple's entwined initials in gold and silver surmounted by the coronet of Prince William and the wedding date. The range is decorated with a pattern of doves, white ribbons and hearts in silver, gold and grey, set against a pale-grey striped background. Handmade exclusively for the Royal Collection in Stoke-on-Trent using methods that have remained unchanged for 250 years, each item is individually decorated and then embellished with several layers of burnished gold and platinum before a final layer of gilding in 22-carat gold is applied by hand."

The plate is priced at about $62, while the tankard is about $54 and the pillbox is $38. In a statement, Prince William's office said, "The Royal Collection has been working on the design since around the time of the engagement -- it's a very fast moving process," reports the Washington Post in a related article. The statement also said that both the Prince and his bride had approved of the design.

Kate and William made their first post-engagement public appearance together Saturday when they attended a charity fundraising event in eastern England (no photos from the event have yet emerged).

Royal Wedding: More Details!

Katewilliam_250

It's been a few days since we've heard any new (real) developments about the April nuptials between Kate Middleton and Prince William. But now -- there's an exclusive update with lots of insider info, thanks to the Huffington Post. Here's what's new:

The Dress: While there's been plenty of speculation about the lucky designer who will dress Kate Middleton for this historic event, insiders are now saying that she's looking to a a "young, little-known, British designer." The Huffington Post suggests "looking at those who have made dresses for Catherine, her sister Pippa, and her mother Carole" for more clues.

The Dress Code: The ceremony is now expected to start around 11:00 a.m. Since it's a morning ceremony, men will be in business suits, and "smart day dress" for the ladies (which will consist of a suit or a dress with a hat -- not a tiara). "Watch for some guests to wear their military uniforms and even their national dress," reports the Huffington Post.

Wedding Attendants: In England, they don't use the term "Maid of Honor," but there's been no question all along that Kate's sister, Pippa, will be her head bridesmaid. Meanwhile, royal princes can have two supporters on their wedding day (Prince Charles had both of his brothers, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward at his side); but it's likely that William will stick to just Prince Harry, his brother. If he does choose a second person, it will likely be his cousin, Peter Philips, rather than his close school friend, Thomas van Straubenzee. There's also a good chance that William's godson, Prince Constantine Alexios (who is the son of Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece and his American wife, Marie-Chantal Miller) could be one of the pageboys.

The Reception: After the ceremony, there will be a series of "breakfasts" (even though it will be afternoon) one of which is expected to be hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Heads of state and other foreign dignitaries will be hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street and the Mayor of London is also expected to host a breakfast for other government officials. The wedding reception will be held at the Ritz, sources say, and organized by Lady Elizabeth Anson, the Queen's cousin. Lady Anson's company, Party Planners, plans all major wedding reception and royal events, so there's no question that she'll do this one as well.

Other Details: We already know that Kate is receiving counseling on how to be a princess, but she's also receiving counseling to avoid bouts of depression like Diana supposedly had, and she and William are attending pre-marital counseling together. Now to add to that list, Kate is reportedly also taking private Welsh lessons since she will one day be the Princess of Wales.

The custom in the Anglican church is that William will stand at the altar and not see his bride approach until she is standing at his side. They're expected to keep this tradition, although Prince Andrew famously couldn't wait and turned around to sneak a peek at his bride, Sarah Ferguson, and many wonder if William will do the same thing.

After the wedding ceremony, the couple is also expected to follow other traditions: Catherine will drop to a deep curtsy before the Queen before leaving with William in a horse-drawn, State Landau carriage. (Kate is allergic to horses, but apparently her allergy is manageable).

The Best and Worst
Celebrity Weddings of 2010

CelebWeddings_580

Chelsea, Alicia, Hilary, Megan, Katy -- there were tons of celebrity brides this year and just as many unique styles to go with them. Here, we'll dishes on the best (and worst!) of the most notorious celeb weddings of 2010.

Best: Chelsea Clinton's Wedding

From the location to the flowers, the cake to her unforgettable Vera Wang dress, Chelsea Clinton's wedding to Marc Mezvinsky lived up to all of the hype. The late July wedding held in Rhinebeck, New York, included around 400 guests and yet somehow managed to still seem intimate and family-focused. We give extra props to Chelsea for handling the constant press attention with total grace: The family released five photos and a statement after the wedding, ending all speculation and quelling our curiosity.

Worst: Hilary Duff's Wedding

There's "over-the-top" and then there's Hilary Duff's wedding to hockey star and Canadian millionaire heir Mike Comrie. The couple threw a lavish bash and spared no expense -- especially when it came to hawking every single wedding photo to the tabloids. In terms of style, Hilary's sky-high hairstyle doesn't exactly make the top of our lists, but then again, neither do the favors that read "Complients" of Mr. & Mrs. C (remember, brides: spell-check is key!). After her wedding photos hit newsstands, rumors emerged that due to underperforming sales of the magazine, her contract was even renegotiated for less money. Ouch! Then again, we're sure having that 14-carat-diamond engagement ring softens the blow.

Best: Megan Fox's Wedding

The brunette bombshell married her on-again, off-again fiance, Brian Austin Green, in a private beach ceremony where Green's 8-year-old son, Kassius, was the only attendant. Not only did the mega-celeb manage to have a private wedding just like she wanted, she looked effortlessly stylish in an Armani Prive white gown with a 16-foot train. The couple kept things personal and though some reports said it was a spur-of-the-moment decision, we like to think they were just focused on the most important part of the wedding: the marriage itself. (more celebrity weddings after the jump)

CelebrityWeddings2_580

Worst: Bethenny Frankel's Wedding

While we think it's awesome that Bethenny chose to rock her baby bump in a figure-hugging Amsale gown, there's this one moment we just can't get past: Bethenny peeing in a bucket on national television. If not one of the lowest points of the wedding, it had to be one of the lowest points of reality TV. And though she managed to keep her wedding (pretty much) drama free (not all of her "Housewives" costars made the guest list), she could have opted for a more fashionable wedding exit than wearing an all-white tracksuit.

Best: Alicia Keys's Wedding

From the picturesque Mediterranean setting to Alicia's incredible 60-carat custom headpiece from jewelry guru Jacob & Co., everything about this wedding got our attention. The bride donned a one-shoulder Vera Wang gown, while the groom, Swizz Beatz, looked chic in a white Tom Ford tuxedo. Aside from the stylish attire, the wedding also included a luxurious red-themed reception, with outdoor tables, gold chairs and large candelabra as centerpieces.

Worst: Heidi Montag's Wedding

They might be calling it their first "real" wedding, but it's actually the third time faux-lebrities Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have tied the knot. (For those keeping count, they first eloped in Mexico, then wed very publicly on "The Hills.") Aside from holding a new wedding every five minutes, the whole event was further cheapened by the confession that Speidi's supposed "divorce" proceedings over the summer were totally faked as a publicity stunt. Add that to Heidi's drastic plastic surgery (followed by her plastic surgery regrets) and you end up with a made-for-TV segment that no one really cares about.

Best: Katy Perry's Wedding

From the moment of their romantic New Year's Eve engagement in India, we expected big things to come from Katy Perry's wedding to British comedian Russell Brand. And while the couple didn't disappoint, they also kept things relatively "normal." Despite rumors of baby tigers and elephant entrances, Russell told a British talk show, "Everyone gets all worked up about showbiz and celebrity [weddings], but…it’s normal. It’s just a normal marriage." The couple, who are now rocking matching micro pave diamond wedding bands, hosted Hollywood's elite at their wedding -- but don't expect to see any photos. Russell and Katy have both said they're keeping those "private and normal" as well.
