Jessica Simpson Engaged

Just days after her ex, Nick Lachey, announced his own engagement to Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica Simpson had some big news of her own to share.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer is engaged to her NFL football player boyfriend, Eric Johnson, reports People.com. The couple, who began dating in May, have been spotted all over since then getting cozy, and even celebrating Jessica's 30th birthday in Italy.

Asked a short time ago if Eric was "the one," Jessica replied, "I never go to that because I already went there, so, I'm not gonna jinx my own self. He's the one for me right now! I'm very happy, I'm in a great place and if right now could last forever, I'd take it."

Well, let's hope for her sake that she's made up her mind that he's "the one" by now! The singer showed up at a Dillard's event to promote her shoe line sporting a large red ruby engagement ring from celeb diamond guru, Neil Lane. The three stone engagement ring contains a red ruby in the center, and a smaller diamond on each side.
