"Bridezillas" Meets "Jersey Shore"?

Big_friggin_wedding_250

"Imagine if "Jersey Shore" and "Bridezillas" smushed and made a baby," writes Yvonne Villarreal of the LA Times. Well, now you've got it: "My Big Friggin' Wedding" comes from the producers of "Jersey Shore" and will follow over-the-top brides from Jersey and Long Island.

Forget the usual wedding drama, this show promises to beat them all and be more out of control when it comes to the brides -- and their families, reports the LA Times blog.

So what's in store? Well, there's the mama's boy with his mother's face tattooed on his back, and the Dominican girl with a temper who wants to marry him despite his meddling mother-in-law. Then there's the ultimate party couple -- who comes from a long line of partiers -- and is just trying to stay sober long enough to make it to the altar. And then there's the couple who lives with his parents. The bride-to-be isn't fond of cooking or cleaning -- or much else really, and is instead generally concerned with whether her derriere will fit into her wedding dress, according to the LA Times blog.

The show promises plenty of surprises (a bridal shower turned baby shower?) and lots of fighting along the way to the altar. "My Big Friggin' Wedding" premieres on VH1 on Nov. 1 at 9 p.m. So tell us, will you be tuning in?

Seth Rogen Engaged!

SethRogan_engaged_250

Funnyman Seth Rogen is ready to tie the knot!

The star of blockbuster comedies like "Knocked Up" and "Funny People" proposed to his longtime girlfriend, writer and actress Lauren Miller, reports Life & Style. "He surprised her with the proposal," an insider tells the tabloid, adding that Lauren had started "giving up hope that he would ever pop the question."

The couple, who are both 28, have been dating since 2004. Seth supposedly asked after they returned from visiting her family in Boston. "Her family adores him; everyone is thrilled to plan a wedding," the insider says.

Despite his A-lister status, we feel like this wedding might be a fairly intimate one. What do you think Seth and Lauren's wedding will be like?

"Bridalplasty" Combines Plastic Surgery and Dream WeddingCompetition

HeidiKlum1_200

So we've been hearing lots about this show and decided it was finally time to do a blog post. While we try to stay pretty impartial to all types of weddings -- and desires for those weddings -- this one is a little bit harder.

"Bridalplasty," a new show set to premiere on E!, will pit brides-to-be against one another in various wedding related competitions where the prize is extreme plastic surgery. One by one the brides will be voted off by their competitors and, according to the show's description, "possibly [walk] away with nothing and [lose their] chance to be the perfect bride," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Hollywood plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow (from Fox's "The Swan") will lend his expert advice to the show and celebrity bride Shanna Moakler (who's wedding to Blink 182's Travis Barker was filmed for TV, though the two have since divorced) will host.

The winner gets her "dream wedding" and "viewers will witness his emotional and possibly shocked reaction as they stand at the altar and [the groom] lifts her veil to see her for the first time following her extreme plastic surgery," says E! according to the Huffington Post. It's the first show where people will actually have to compete for plastic surgery (whereas other reality shows have simply followed people as they had plastic surgery).

Doctors and specialists from around the country are already denouncing the show and questioning the ethical implications it could have. But we want to hear from you -- sure it's easy to bash a show like this, but could you ever see yourself competing? Or can you think of any friends who would want something like this? Weigh in below!

Alfred Angelo on NBC's "Undercovers"

AlfredAngelo_580

In case you haven't seen the advertisements, there's a new super sexy spy show called "Undercovers" coming out on NBC. The show premieres tonight at 8 p.m. -- and of course, what would any good series premiere be without a wedding! (At least, in our book, every good premiere ought to have a wedding!).

Alfred Angelo's gowns will reportedly be making appearances in tonight's episodes (check out the styles above) in a few different scenes on the series. So here's your chance -- if you've been scoping out one of these gowns and want to see how it moves, spins -- and possibly escapes from an espionage situation -- tune in tonight to see these gowns in action.

Kings of Leon Singer, Caleb Followill, Engaged

CalebFollowill_250

We have to admit, as excited as we usually are about engagements, this one just makes our inner groupie sigh a little bit. Caleb Followill, the lead singer for Kings of Leon, is now officially off the market.

Caleb popped the question to his girlfriend, model Lily Aldridge, the band's rep confirmed to People.com. Caleb seems to be following in the footsteps of his bandmate (and brother), Nathan Followill, who married singer Jesse Baylin back in November.

Lily appeared in the band's video for the song "Use Somebody" and has been dating Caleb for over two years now. No word yet on when the wedding will be, but since they've got a new album, "Come Around Sundown," coming out on Oct. 19 and they're heading overseas next month to continue touring, we're guessing it may not be until next year.

No First Dance for Kellie Pickler?

KPickler_250

Not every newlywed couple wants a traditional first dance -- especially when one of the partners is a snapper.

"He's a snapper," country pop star Kellie Pickler tells People.com of her fiance, Kyle Jacobs. "He just sways back and forth and snaps his fingers."

Despite constantly being in the musical spotlight, Kellie has decided to skip the first dance entirely. Despite cutting out her big duet, though, Kellie says there's still a lot of planning to do, she says. The 24-year-old is juggling a music tour and new album while planning her wedding (and you thought planning while having a 9-to-5 was tough!). "I think once the record gets finished I can jump into wedding mode," she says.

We have to admit, not having a first dance seems like a pretty big, well, first to skip. Even if it can cause a little stress if you're used to being a wallflower, why not embrace your moment in the spotlight? So what do you think? Would ever consider skipping the first dance because your partner has no rhythm -- or worse -- because he's a snapper? Weigh in below!

NYC Fashion Week: BCBG

BCBG_580

BCBG graced the runway with these gauzy, dreamy looks. The short dresses strike a nice contrast between girlie-femininity (due to the fabric) and edge chic (thanks to that mini hem length and those sky-high stilettos). Despite the several white dresses (we didn't even include them all here), the real showstopper seemed to be some of the lacier ensembles that walked towards the finale (like that center dress). So elegant! What do you think? Would you wear one?

NYC Fashion Week: Ports, Doo.Ri, rag & bone, Jason Wu

Ports1961_580

Here's a quick recap of what's been going on with several of the hottest designers. Ports 1961 premiered lots of ethereal, almost goddess like pieces (check out that one on the far left) along with a few simple white dresses that seem like the perfect reception getaway frock or even for a quickie wedding at city hall. The models, as usual, looked fresh faced with minimal makeup, quite lovely, don't you think?

And below, from a bit of the darker, edgier side of fashion week, we've got several sleek and jagged designs -- perfect for the bride who wants to stand out (or who swore she'd never just wear a "plain white dress." Sound like you?) We're particularly loving that one-shoulder number (second from left) by Doo.ri. What do you think? Which gowns do you like?

NYC Fashion Week: Peter Som

Turn on the brights! We're seriously loving the bright, playfulness that Peter Som brought to this year's runway collection. The designs are feminine -- but with a slight teenage edge. And let's face, just about any one of these fun frocks would make the ultimate honeymoon dress. What do you think?

NYC Fashion Week: Christian Siriano

ChristianS1_580

I'll admit, I've been a fan of Christian Siriano since his Project Runway days. His collection this season included tons of dramatic looks, over-the-top ball gowns and some incredible sculpted dresses. And of course, like a lot of the other designers we've seen, a few sexy little white dresses too.

Here's a brief roundup of some of the hottest looks from his show. You tell us, would you dare to wear any of these looks?
