It's been about a week since Josh and I found out that we won the Us Weekly and WeddingChannel.com $100,000 Dream Wedding Contest and we are still in shock! It is the most amazing yet surreal feeling. There were so many deserving couples so we feel very honored to have been chosen. As we plan our (amazing!) wedding, I'll be blogging about the whole process right here, so I thought I'd start things off by sharing a little about Josh and myself, Pam.
Josh and I have been together for almost three years now. We met at a Jimmy Buffet Concert in September of 2007 and knew right away there was a special chemistry that we just couldn't ignore. For the next two and a half years, we maintained a long distance relationship while he was in the Army. The proposal came on my birthday, this past June at the restaurant where we had our first date. As dessert was served, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. A moment that I will never forget!
Now we're headed for the next big step -- the wedding! From the time I was a little girl, I have known exactly what I wanted my wedding to be like. When I saw Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's wedding it was like a page straight our of my dreams. I loved the elegance and classic look that the candles and soft colored roses gave during the ceremony and reception. When it comes to the dress, I want my gown to mimic the wedding style -- classic and elegant, with a little sexiness rolled in! I love designers like Monique Lhuillier, Pnina Tornai, Romona Keveza, and Jim Hjelm.
My dream wedding would be timeless and classic. It will be a romantic and intimate affair, with thousands of blush pink, white, and champagne colored flowers. The most important part to me is that our family and friends feel that they are a big part of this day. I can't wait for this to be the wedding they will never forget.
