Prince Albert II of Monaco Gets Engaged

Prince_albert_250

As mentioned in our previous post, it's been a real week of royal love! Prince Albert II of Monaco, 52, announced his engagement to Charlène Wittstock yesterday. And now the details are starting to emerge.

The Prince first appeared in publich with Wittstock, who is 32 and from South Africa, at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, reports People.com. Apparently the former schoolteacher was tutored in what would be expected of her by the Prince's sisters, Princesses Stephanie and Caroline. But it didn't take long for the blonde beauty to fit in. "She knows instinctively what is expected of her," an insider tells People.com. The couple was also spotted at Princess Victoria's wedding last weekend in Stockholm. Prince Albert II is the son of the late film star, Princess Grace Kelly and the late Rainer III, Prince of Monaco.

And just check out the engagement ring Prince Albert gave to Charlene. It's, well, fit for a princess. The ring was created by the Parisian jewelry house Maisson Repossi and features a pear-shaped diamond in the center, set in gray gold with round diamond brilliants surrounding it, reports People.com. Tell us, what do you think of the sparkler?

We've also picked out a couple of wedding dresses that we think would be fit for this royal wedding, weigh in on what you think below!

Royal Wedding: Princess Victoria of Sweden Married!

Victoria_daniel1_580

It's been a week of royal weddings! First, the Princess of Sweden held an amazing ceremony and reception last weekend, and now the Prince of Monaco -- a bachelor at 52 -- is finally engaged! (More on that in just a moment!)

So let's jump right in with the Princess Victoria of Sweden. In the biggest royal wedding since Diana and Charles back in 1981, Princess Victoria married Daniel Westling in a lavish weekend ceremony. Her traditional gown was a custom-made, cream duchess satin gown by Swedish designer Par Engsheden, reports In-Style.com. But no royal gown is complete without a regal train to follow it. Princess Victoria's train was 16.5 feet long, and required two people to carry it in her wake. Like the Queen before her, the Princess also wore custom Roger Vivier shoes (hers were Belle de Nuit style in white silk). The Princess also wore two custom designs by Elie Saab at wedding events over the weekend (see the photos below!)

And talk about a wedding budget. The ceremony was estimated to cost $2 million, according to the BBC. The wedding, which was held in the gorgeous Stockholm Cathedral, included 1,200 guests. King Carl XVI Gustaf gave his daughter, who is 32, away to Daniel Westling, a commoner, who will now assume the title Prince Daniel, Duke of Vastergotland. (As an FIY, Sweden's monarchy has no political power, but the royal family represents the nation and greets foreign dignitaries.)

So now you tell us, are you planning a fairy tale wedding so you'll feel like a princess on your big day? Fill us in on the details about what you're including -- wearing a tiara? arriving in a horse-drawn carriage? -- below!

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom Officially Engaged!

Miranda_orlando_250

We'll be honest: it's a bit of a sad day for guys and girls. Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr and heartthrob Orlando Bloom are both officially of the market.

The longtime couple, who has dodged rumors for years, have finally confirmed they're engaged, reports MSN's Wonderwall! The "Lord of the Rings" star, 33, has kept his relationship to the Australian supermodel quite hush hush, so we can just imagine their wedding will be the same way. Last year, amid rumors, Orlando would only tell reports, "We are just enjoying our time together now," reports the NY Daily News.

OK, so since we're probably not getting an invite, we just couldn't help but wonder why kind of dress Miranda might don for the big day. We've selected a few below we think would look great on her, what do you think? What type of gown should Miranda wear? Weigh in!

America Ferrera Engaged!

America_200

"Ugly Betty" may be headed off the air, but America Ferrera's real life has just hit a new high. The star of the hit comedy series is engaged to her longtime beau, Ryan Piers William. And check out her bling!

For the proposal, Ryan went all out. According to Us magazine, the ring is a 4-carat round-cut diamond set in platinum, with an estimated worth of $70,000! Whoa.

The couple met while they were in school together at the University of Southern California, and Ryan, an emerging director, cast America in one of his films. They've been living together since 2007 and share their home with their golden retriever, "Buddy," reports Us magazine. No word yet on when their wedding bells will ring, but we've already got a few ideas of what America should wear.

We saw her in "Our Family Wedding" in a Monique Lhuillier gown and thought she looked stunning, so for her real life wedding, we picked something a little similar. We imagine their wedding to be a bit more traditional, so we also picked a classically white bouquet and a pretty outdoor winery reception setting. What do you think their wedding will be like? Weigh in below!

Megan Fox Engaged -- Again!

Green_fox_250

Could there be wedding bells for Megan Fox?

The brunette bombshell is reportedly engaged (again) to her beau, Brian Austin-Green, reports Us magazine. The on-again-off-again-on-again couple was engaged once before, but Megan reportedly broke it off. Maybe this time things will go better?

"Yes, she is engaged," her rep reportedly told Us magazine.

But as for her bling -- well, it's no where to be seen. Brian supposedly proposed to the actress poolside at the Four Season Hualalai hotel on the Big Island in Hawaii. But everything didn't go quite as planned. Shortly after he popped the question, in the excitement, the couple somehow lost the ring.

"I saw her jumping up and down," a witness tells the magazine. "Later, I saw a half dozen staff sifting through the sand." But despite the searching, no one has located the 2-carat sparkler. The ring reportedly came from the exclusive Excalibur jewelry store in Beverly Hills.

"Security and maintenance staff spent a couple of hours looking for it," another source told Us magazine. "No one found it."

No word yet on when Brian, 36, and Megan, who's newest flick "Jonah Hex" hits theaters this Friday, will say their "I dos." The couple was previously engaged for two years, but called it quits in February 2009. Let's hope second time's a charm for the A-listers!

And tell us, would you get engaged twice? Or do you think, once a wedding's been called off, it should be called off for good? Weigh in below!

Rush Limbaugh Says "I Do" for 4th Wedding

Limbaugh_rogers_300

Conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh heard wedding bells for the fourth time this weekend. The often controversial talk-radio show host tied the knot with his girlfriend of six years, Kathryn Rogers.

Rush, 59, and Kathryn, 33, married at the Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, with 400 of their friends and family present. Political A-listers who attended the event included former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Bush adviser Karl Rover, former Clinton adviser James Carville and his wife, GOP analyst, Mary Matalin, plus baseball slugger George Brett, and golf star Tom Watson, reports MSNBC.com. One report even said Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas made an appearance. But that's not all.

Rush also had a very special performance -- by Sir Elton John. The singer was reportedly paid $1 million to perform at the wedding.

When asked about the couple's 26 year age difference, Kathryn, who is reportedly a direct descendant of President John Adams, told the Palm Beach Post in 2008 that their gap is what makes the romance work.

"I grew up so differently, traveling around the world, that I'm sometimes not able to relate to the average person my age," Kathryn said at the time. "Rush has such amazing experience."

After the wedding, the couple quickly headed off to their honeymoon, taking Rush's private Gulfstream jet. They plan on visiting Mexico, Africa, and a few other spots, reports People.com.

Jane Lynch Ties the Knot!

Lynch_embry_300

Looks like Jane Lynch has something to sing and dance about.

The actress, who plays Sue Sylvester, the cheerleading coach everyone loves to hate, on the hit musical-comedy series "Glee," has tied the knot with her girlfriend, Dr. Lara Embry, reports People.com.

The couple, who have been engaged since November, were married at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland, Mass. by a friend who became ordained in order to marry the couple.

The happy couple tells the NY Times that they both shared a near instant mutual attraction for each other and that their high-profile careers had nothing to do with it. The two struck up a long-distance relationship, with Jane in Los Angeles and Lara, a clinical psychiatrist, living in Sarasota, Florida, and raising her daughter, Haden.

During their vows, Jane promised "to be the very best parent I can be," along with pledging "to do my best to get her 'iCarly' tickets." And during the reception, Jane even cut loose with her new daughter, Haden, dancing to Madonna's "Vogue." Food at the wedding reception included oysters, lobster triangles, Japanese crab salad, seared scallops, truffle mushroom salad, and pan-seared breast of duck with duck confit, reports People.com. As for the wedding cake? A house-made cake with chocolate mousse, vanilla buttercream, and fresh strawberries was served around 10 p.m. to the 15 guests who attended.

We think it's so cool that the couple was married by a friend of theirs who got ordained to marry the two. Tell us, would you have a friend officiate your wedding or is it something that you considered? Take our poll below!
