Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon to say "I do" Again!

Nick_mariah_vowrenwal_250

Mariah Carey is ready to walk down the aisle again -- that is, with her husband.

The pop princess will once again renew her wedding vows with Nick Cannon, reports People.com. While most people renew their vows just once in a lifetime, Mariah and Nick seem to be doing it annually, on their wedding anniversary.

I encourage everybody to do it. If you are happy and in love, celebrate it!" Nick, 29, announced on Friday during his radio show. He went on to confirm that he will renew his vows with his 41-year-old pop star wife to celebrate their second wedding anniversary.

The couple wed in 2008 after a whirlwind romance at Mariah's Bahamian estate, but Nick says this time around they aren't looking for a tropical getaway.

And as for his gift? Nick says it will be "something very thoughtful and it has nothing to do with money." He adds, "We are just trying to keep the romance alive. That's all."

What do you think of an annual vow renewal? Is once enough? Or would you love to tie the knot again and again? Weigh in below!

It's wedding bells for Christina Applegate!

How Katy Perry Copes with Planning Stress

KPerry_RBrand_250

Wedding planning is reportedly taking its toll on Katy Perry. The "Hot N Cold" singer has apparently started smoking as a way to deal with the stress, reports the U.K.'s MTV.com.

The pop star, who is set to marry Russell Brand in India later this year is even considering hyponotherapy to help her quit the habit before she walks down the aisle.

The U.K.'s Mirror claims that Perry confessed to a friend, "I'm stressed out with the wedding and I keep smoking to calm my nerves. I do it even though I know it is really bad for me and I know I need to stop."

Katy supposedly continued, "So I'm thinking I am going to have hypnotherapy to help me get over it. I'd never say to kids, 'This is cool'. It's a really bad habit that I need to quit."

Meanwhile, Katy's gal pal Rhianna is said to be putting together her bachelorette party, while Kanye West and Jay-Z are reportedly planning a "wild" bachelor party for Russell Brand.

So you tell us, have you developed any bad habits as a result of wedding planning stress? If so, what are they? If not, how are you coping with the stress? Tell us below!

Do Brad and Angie Hear Wedding Bells?

OKcover_brangelina_250

Could they finally be ready to tie the knot? After years of dating and enough tabloid coverage to fill a library, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will say "I do," in a small, private ceremony, reports OK! Magazine.

"Brad and Angie are exceptionally private people, and they pride themselves on being humble and not wasting money," says a close friend of the couple's. "So some over-the-top, beachfront affair with hundreds of guests isn't going to happen."

Others think Brad might just be trying to avoid the same over-the-top nuptials that he shared with Jennifer Anniston in July 2000.

The couple, who have six children -- Vivienne, Knox, Shiloh, Zahara, Pax and Maddox -- are supposedly being prodded by the kids to get married.

The OK! source dished, "Lately, Shiloh and Zahara have been chiming in, and Pax thinks it would just be the coolest thing ever to be a ring bearer."

But let's be honest. We've all heard rumors like this before -- along with the break-up and cheating scandals. Do you think this time it's for real? Are Brad and Angelina really going to take the plunge? Tell us below!

"Girl Meets Gown": New WE TV Show Premieres Sunday!

Girl_meets_gown_250

"Girl Meets Gown" is a new reality TV show that follows Southern belle brides on their quest for the perfect dress. The show centers on the Dallas based StarDust Celebrations, the largest bridal salon in the south. Brides fly from all over just to get the expert opinions of the two owners, Marsha Ballard French and Jennifer Cline. Since they've been in the biz since 1999, Marsha and Jennifer had plenty of advice to share with us about how to find the perfect wedding gown.

1. What makes a Stardust bride different from the others?

Our clients are usually from the South, Midwest and of course Texas. The Texas and Louisiana bride has self-confidence, usually a sense of fashion and is all about making a statement. Our Midwest brides seem to search for quality and want to find something that is not available in their local communities.

2. What kind of experience are your brides looking for when they shop?

It's a toss up, many brides want a group experience with friends and family shopping with them; others want more privacy and want to keep the gown choice a secret, but regardless of group attendance or privacy, they all want to have an experience befitting a princess.

3. What kind of experience do you offer your brides?

The experience at Stardust includes an interactive encounter where the bride and an assigned personal stylist select a group of gowns to try on. Thereafter, the stylist will select gowns that the bride may have overlooked. We have spacious dressing rooms and the bride can decide to stay in her private space or step into a very large area with floor to ceiling mirrors. The stylist is a well trained experienced professional who knows body shapes, fabrications, laces, trimwork and the structure of wedding gowns. Our stylists are expected to be familiar with different types of wedding locations in order to advise the bride on what she may experience when she wears the gown, such as sand, wind, heat, etc. After a bride makes her wedding gown selection, the celebration begins! We serve champagne, take pictures and if wanted, the bride can strut down a long hallway which mimics a long aisle. A few weeks later, the bride usually returns to select her veil and jewelry and then it's on to bridesmaids, mother's gowns and tuxedos. Our goal is to style the entire wedding including the groom!

4. How do you think a bride should feel in her dress on her wedding day?

How a bride should feel on her wedding day is as varied as trees in a forest! Yes, sexy is okay for some, but demure is better for others. We mostly believe brides want to feel "pretty" and there are many brides who want that "WOW" feeling.

5. What's the most outrageous request a bride has made?

We were asked one time if a bride could take a dress home to show her dad; she promised to bring it back within a week. Honestly, I can't think of any request that is outrageous except sometimes brides ask for large discounts, which our designers do not allow us to offer.

6. What's the worst thing a bride can do when she goes in to try on bridal gowns?

There will be many photos that the bride will see and she will just know that the gown is for her, but when we see her, we know the gown will probably not be good for her body type. Hopefully she will try on other things. Also, some brides are so close-minded about trying on gowns with lace or gowns with beads, etc. So what if lace is not her favorite? The shape of the gown may be perfect and the designer will make it without the lace. All in all at Stardust, I think the worst thing is to not listen to our stylists and give them a chance to provide the education and service that we are trained to give.

7. When brides come into your shop and don't have any idea what they are looking for, how do you decide what to have them try on?

The date of the wedding, the location of the wedding, the shape of the bride and her height are four key factors. For instance, a lightweight silk organza gown may not be perfect for a winter wedding, but the beautiful silk satin gown may take five months to make and the bride is getting married next month. And, obviously, the shape of the gown really must be flattering to the shape of the bride. It is difficult for almost anyone to wear an all white/ivory gown, honestly, who would choose an all white dress even when we are at our ideal weights? Our stylists are keenly aware of the need to select a gown based on the bride's shape and height.

8. How will she know when it's the dress?

Usually, we can tell from the emotional reaction immediately after the gown is zipped up. If not then, the bride will begin to "pat" the fabric, she will smile in the mirror; you can tell she is dreaming of her wedding day. Sometimes she cries.

9. Who should really go dress shopping with the bride?

Ideally, someone who the bride really trusts -- most often this is her mom or a best friend. The fewer the better. It is better to take a group of friends to the first fitting "after" the bride receives her gown rather than during the selection process.

10. Any wedding gown nightmares you can share?

Yes, several years ago, we had a mom get so excited about the gown, that she jumped up from her chair, tripped over a stool on the floor and broke her arm! Jenny and I were nurses in the past, so we administered first aid, called for the paramedics, sent her flowers. The mom was so embarrassed that they never came back!

"Girl Meets Gown" premieres on Sunday, April 25 at 10 p.m. EST on WeTV.

Carrie Underwood talks wedding details

Carrie_underwood_ellen_250

It's all been hush hush when it comes to Carrie Underwood's big day -- until now! the country music star made a surprise appearance on the Ellen show today and ended up talking a little bit about her wedding day plans. Carrie says she's very laid back and that they're not too concerned with planning the details. They have set a date, but it's "not one that we're openly talking about," she says, according to Us Magazine.

Everybody would always ask me questions, like 'What have you always thought about? This is your day,' and I didn't think about it until I was engaged," the songstress, who was just awarded Entertainer of the Year by the ACM, said. "I wasn't one of those little girls who always dreams about getting married. So I have no idea what I'm doing basically," she joked.

Carrie said that both she and her fiance, Canadian hockey player Mark Fisher, were veyr laid back. So far they've picked out the food and the venue, "the big hurdles," Carrie said, "but everything else, we're really easy about. We don't really care."

That's pretty much the opposite of a bridezilla if you ask us. Carrie also said they were tyring to keep the wedding small and intimate, despite her fiance's large family.

Tell us, do you think Carrie Underwood's way laid back approach is the right way to plan a wedding? Or should you be a little more hands on?

"Idol's" Simon Cowell will have 4 weddings!

Simon-Cowell-Mezhgan_250

Looks like the toughest judge on TV has a real soft spot for weddings. "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell -- the one who's notorious for not liking anything -- will get married four times to his fiance, Mezhgan Hussainy, reports Britain's Marie Claire. The couple has been engaged for a couple of years now, so maybe we'll forgive them for going a bit over the top -- but four weddings?

Perez Hilton reports that the couple will be married in Brighton, England, Los Angeles, Barbados, and in Hollywood. Previously, the couple has stated that they were going to have two ceremonies to appease both sides of their family, but we're not exactly sure where the extra two came from. Perez also reports that the theme for the wedding will be -- you'll never guess -- Salvador Dali.

Vera and David Partner Up

Vera_Davids_580

Attention brides! If you've always wanted the look for less when it comes to your wedding gown -- now may be the time. Celebrity gown designer Vera Wang is partnering with David's Bridal to create a line of affordable wedding gowns. The line will include nothing over $1,500 and include gowns and accessories. The 20 gown line should be available in the US by early Spring 2011, reports InStyle.

Vera told WWD she's excited about the project, adding, "I've been doing this for 20 years in September…what is the point if I can't share all this work [via] a brand that is reliable and credible to people."

No word yet on what the line will look like -- and to be honest, we're pretty curious. What do you think the line will look like? And tell us, would you buy a Vera Wang for David's Bridal gown?

A Reason to Kick Up Your Heels!

Celeb_buzz_blog

Let's talk shoes, shall we? The Sex and the City previews have me feeling pretty inspired! For some brides, the shoes are almost as important as the dress. And just like bridal gowns, the options in footwear are endless. Gone are the days of sporting white satin shoes or having your heels dyed to match your dress. These days brides are taking it up a notch and wearing their accent color on their feet, choosing a metallic hue or even going blue!

Take a cue from celebs like Beyonce, Demi Moore and, Carrie Bradshaw herself, SJP. Talk about putting a spring in their step! On the carpet, these stars break out of the box with unexpected and playful choices, having just as much fun with their shoes as they do with their dresses.

0421_AEditor_580

And don't be afraid to wear flats. I am. After all, I want to be comfortable on my big day. I know I'd just end up shedding my overpriced kicks early in the evening to dance anyway and then the poor soles would be left abandoned, under a table, not getting the love they deserve. Instead I'm splurging on a pair of Louboutins for the Rehearsal Dinner where my shoes will be seen -- and I can sit most of the evening! Who says you can't break the rules and shake things up? Flats are a completely acceptable alternative these days (our First Lady loves hers!) and more and more brides are going heel-less. Consider it. Your feet will thank you.

But, whether it's a strappy stiletto, a more conservative pump or a fashionable flat, make sure they are YOU. There's nothing worse than seeing a bride who doesn't look like herself on her wedding day. If it’s not you, don't do it (that goes for the dress, too!). If you never wear heels, don't let this be the day you try them out. If you do wear heels, stick to the height you're used to. No one wants to see a bride hobbling down the aisle to her groom. The more relaxed and comfortable you are, the more confident you will feel. Remember, guests take their cues from the bride. If you're stressed or fidgety, the atmosphere will be tense and it won’t matter what's on your feet. If you exude ease, the vibe will be more relaxed and fun -- the perfect environment to kick up your heels!

Tell us: What shoes are you wearing on you big day?
