Country’s Sweetheart Carrie Underwood is Engaged!

It’s official! Longtime love birds country sensation Carrie Underwood and NHL player Mike Fisher are headed to the altar. Her rep tells People: "I'm happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn't be happier. No wedding date has been set at this time."

Fisher popped the question while the two were at his home on Sunday. After she said yes, he began sending out messages sharing the good news. Prior to getting engaged the pair dated for over a year. Underwood and Fisher have been caught in quite a few engagement rumor mills this year, but there’s no way the announcement’s bogus this time.

"It's true," Fisher tells the Toronto Sun. "We're both obviously excited and very happy."

The groom-to-be is a top player on the Ottawa Senators, so our guess is the lovey-dovey duo won’t be having a fall, winter, or spring wedding in 2010. (The hockey season typically runs from September through late April.) We see Carrie as a beautiful summer bride anyway, don’t you? In fact, we’re hoping she chooses a hairstyle similar to the one she's wearing here -- doesn’t she look heavenly?

As you’ve heard former Bachelor contestant and Dancing With the Stars alum Melissa Rycroft married love Tye Strickland in a beautiful beach ceremony in Mexico last weekend. We found all the lovely details on her gorgeous bridal party style. (All gowns came from Alfred Angelo!) Here are the details:

The Bride Wore: This lovely tiered strapless gown. It’s satin organza over satin with rhinestones and crystal beading and sequins. The gown features of chapel train. (You can get it with spaghetti straps too!)

Her Bridesmaids Wore: Pretty chiffon and satin high-low hem gowns in coral.

Her Flower Girl Wore: This little tiered satin flower dress with flocked dots in ivory with peach fix flowers. (The flower comes in 12 colors!)

DWTS’s Melissa Rycroft Weds at Sunset in Mexico

This weekend former The Bachelor star and Dancing With the Stars alum Melissa Rycroft finally wed her dream guy, insurance salesman Tye Strickland. The pair hosted a weekend wedding on Isla Mujeres of the coast of Cancun, Mexico, making things official at sunset on Saturday, reports Star magazine.

"It was a rental property that throws events and they exchanged vows right on the beach," a guest told the magazine. "Melissa walked down an aisle decked with white flowing fabrics that trailed all the way down to the dock where the altar was. Her father gave her away."

The spectacular gown was a strapless mermaid style designed by Alfred Angelo (see the latest Alfred Angelo gowns here!) Her bridesmaids wore peach dresses and the groomsmen chose a laid back khaki pants look with sea foam colored button down shirts. Everyone in the wedding party walked down the aisle barefoot. (We love the casual chic, guys!) .

Her former flame, bachelor Jason Mesnick (who famously dumped her on national television!) even had well wished for the couple. People magazine reports that the Mesnick was all smiles when asked about his ex’s wedding. He said: "I'm really happy for her. This whole journey took her to a place where things looked like they were down for her. But then she ended up with the person she was mean to be with. That's what life's all about. I couldn't be happier for her."

Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson: The Engagement’s Off!

We didn’t see this one coming. After a year-long engagement to Swiss multimillionaire Arpad “Arki” Busson, actress Uma Thurman has called the whole thing off. A source tells People.com that this is in fact old new.

"The engagement ended awhile back – almost two months ago," says a source. "They remain friends."

Sources are speculating that a taxing long-distance relationship may be to blame. Rumor also has it that the would-be groom isn’t taking her decision so well. Close friends tell the magazine he’s “beside himself”. No news yet on an official cause for the split. Here’s to hoping they work things out – Uma will be a beautiful bride!

Bill Clinton Gives Chelsea’s Fiance Two Thumbs Up

Former President Bill Clinton has a lot to smile about these days. Over the weekend, his daughter Chelsea Clinton announced her engagement to Marc Mezvinsky and their plans for a summer 2010 wedding. The good news? Daddy’s approval won’t be a problem.

"He's great. He's a great human being,” Clinton told the press about this future son-in-law, reports the New York Daily News.

The media went on to ask if he’s excited to walk is only daughter down the aisle. His answer? “Very!”
