Alyssa Milano Channels Grace Kelly on Her Wedding Day -- Get the Details!

081709_alyssa_graceActress Alyssa Milano married Hollywood agent David Bugliari Saturday in a nature themed wedding at the groom's family estate in New Jersey. The traditional ceremony and reception were filled with lovely details we can share with you. Our favorite, being that the bride, in a custom gown by Vera Wang, made her way down the aisle carrying a bouquet of lily of the valley flowers -- just like the beautiful Grace Kelly did when she married Prince Ranier of Monaco in 1956. (What a beautiful bouquet idea, right? So simple, yet so stunning!) The ceremony was held outside, and cream colored rose petals were thrown throughout the aisle leading up to a wrought-iron gazebo adorned with willow, roses, and calla lilies. Milano marched to "Imagine" by John Lennon.

"We wanted a wedding that was reflective of who we are as a couple" Milano told People.

Celebrity planner Colin Cowie was in charge of making their dream wedding come true. We love what he did for their reception: Wooden signs led guests to the cocktail area where they sat on hay bales and rattan furniture. (How fun!) Guests dined family-style on farmhouse tables under a tent. And, did we mentioned that Bradley Cooper, a close friend of the groom, was among the celebrity guests in attendance? This is one celebrity wedding we sure wish we'd have attended -- don’t you? Sounds like the pair really pulled off a special day that was fun for all involved. Are you thinking of going the rustic route for your "I dos"? What details do you have planned?

Custom Cookie Favors, Save-the-Dates, and More (Yum!)

081409cookiesWhen Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz said “I Do”, as part of their Alice in Wonderland theme they handed out custom “Eat Me” cookies to guests. A yummy cookie is usually a hit with anyone, and customizing a batch for your wedding can be a lot of fun. We’re big fans of all the bridal cookie line from The Flour Pot. Owners Margie and Abbey Greenberg (a mother-daughter team) offer brides quite a few enticing options for guests – all totally customizable. Here are my favorites:

For Your Save-the-Dates: Skip the usual stationery and ask your guests to mark the date with this awesome calendar cookie. Customize the date (and color!), and watch how many phone calls you recieve wondering what else is for dessert.

For Your Bridesmaids: Ask your special friends to be your bridesmaids in a very special (and sweet!) way with these cute custom dress, ring, or bouquet cookies.

For Your Favors: You don’t have to be from Philadelphia to be in love with the famous Love Statue. Turn it into the perfect edible favor to share the love with your guests on your big day.

Custom Favor Style for the Rock and Roll Bride and Groom

081209picks

At a celebrity wedding, it’s not uncommon to see the bride and groom skip traditional favors and give out something unexpected instead: When Fergie married actor Josh Duhamel during a rock-star inspired ceremony at a vineyard in California this spring, the pair handed out custom black and white rubber bracelets to guests that read “Perfect Pair”, while rockers Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley gave their guests personalized guitar picks as favors (also in black and white) that read “Deryck picked Avril” and “Avril picked Deryck”. Both ideas are smart picks for the music loving husband-and-wife to be, and we found a few ways to find something similar for your weddings – for a good price.

Want to give guests some funky wrist wear as wedding memorabilia? For customizable rubber /silicone bands in all different colors and sizes, visit theawristocrat.com (some prices start as low as 15 cents a band!) And, if guitar picks were more what you had in mind, visit PickFactory.com, or PickWorld.com to personalize shape, color, and words.

25. The couple celebrated their marriage with a tech-free nine day honeymoon at Jade Mountain Resort in St. Lucia, where they snorkeled, hiked, and napped without telephones, radios, or televisions to distract them from relaxing.

Would You Take Off Your Engagement Ring to Go to Work? Jenna Fischer Does -- Find Out Why!

Jenna_lee_getty_jeffreymayerJenna Fischer (aka Pam from The Office) is happily engaged, but you won't always know it from her left hand ring finger. After being spotted sans her new engagement ring given to her by writer Lee Kirk, the star took to her MySpace page to defend the rumors that this was a bad sign.

"I always see these tabloid reports about certain people being 'Spotted Without Their Wedding Ring!' like it's some big deal," she writes. "Most people do not wear their own wedding rings while they are working – this includes TV, movies and photo shoots for magazines."

Since Fischer's character on the show is actually engaged, she can't wear it to work anyway, so she opts to leave it at home for safe keeping because she doesn't think the trailers are secure. (We hear ya Jenna!) She has a good point, though a lot of women who are newly engaged wouldn't part with their new bling for anything. Are you one of 'em?

Our Dream Wedding Winner Gets Some A-List Fitness Tips

080709VanNgo_250When Van Ngo and her fiance Eric Oberly won a celebrity inspired dream wedding (courtesy of WeddingChannel.com and Us Weekly) they knew they were in for a lot of wonderful surprises -- one of them being a training session for Van with celebrity trainer and exercise physiologist Marco Borges. Borges has been one of the most sought-after fitness experts in the world for the last sixteen years and has called Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, and Shakira clients in the past. So what advice did he have for the bride-to-be?

" I offered Van simple fitness advice consisting of two words: Compound Exercises," says Borges. "Which are exercises that work multiple muscle groups at the same time making workouts shorter and more efficient."

Borges insists that a bride has enough to deal with, so keeping a healthy lifestyle should not be stressful. Here are some tips he has for all you brides out there looking to lose a few pounds to look your best on your big day:

• Make some time for just you every day -- even five minutes of quiet time or meditation can be very restorative.
• Drink plenty of water. Hydration is great for the skin and also needed for metabolizing fat. Drink a minimum of eight 8oz glasses a day.
• D.R.E.S.S for success -- daily! This means focusing on your Diet, Rest, Exercise, Stretch and Supplement.

"While many people envision celebrities spending countless hours and loads of money working out and getting ready for their special day, they’re often the ones with the least amount of time and the greatest pressures to look a certain way," says Borges. "I offer simple solutions which don’t cost a fortune and require very little time." Here are a few:

• Workouts can be done anywhere in 30 minutes or less -- little to no equipment necessary. Body weight exercises such as squats, calisthenics, and plyometrics yield amazing results in very little time without equipment. Resistance bands, while very inexpensive, are a great alternative to weights for resistance training and can target all the muscles in the body in a few simple moves that can be done in the comfort of your home.
• Figure out which areas your dress will accentuate and put your attention there first. For instance, many wedding dresses expose the bride's shoulders and arms. If you plan to wear this style, pick a few exercises that target these areas (bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, shoulder flys, etc) and perform them everyday. The general idea is that a little bit everyday goes a very long way. Thirty minutes of exercise daily will help reduce stress levels, increase energy, boost immunity and shape and tone the body.
• Exercise also acts as a catalyst, which inspires correcting any dietary indiscretion, which may come about as a result of stress and also permeates wellness into other areas of your life. Make the time because you owe it to yourself!
• Most importantly, enjoy the moment! Remember the "why" to your "what" here, because you’re already somebody’s “perfect" and this is your big moment to enjoy.

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Engaged!

080609_GVAnderson_Getty_89541730On and off screen lovers Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are engaged! Fans (like me!) of their HBO hit series True Blood everywhere are not surprised to hear the news, I'm sure, since Paquin (as telepath Sookie Stackhouse) and Moyer (who plays Bill Compton, a vampire with real southern charm) have some seriously hot chemistry on screen which is making the show's second season even more appealing to fans, and earning them some new ones in the process. Now, if we could just get their characters to take this next step on the show. No new yet on how Moyer popped the question to his leading lady, or when the two will wed. I'm thinking an outdoor summer wedding with an Alice in Wonderland theme for my favorite TV duo. You?
