Jamie Kennedy Takes to Twitter to Defend Engagement Rumors: We Don't Really Believe Him -- Do You?

JenniferLove_Pascal_Le_Segretain_GettyDespite a recent rumor that hit the web claiming comedian Jamie Kennedy popped the question to girlfriend Jennifer Love Hewitt on stage at The Laugh Factory last weekend, the couple claims marriage is not yet on their menu. Kennedy even took to his Twitter page to insist that he hadn't popped the question, because "if i was gonna get down on one knee do u think i wud do it in the LBC???? I mean i'm down with Snoop but L Beach dosent scream Romance. I luv my girl and wen it happens you'll be the first to know." Aww! We think we'll be hearing from you soon Jamie!

Our engagement monitor is (strongly!) pointing their way these days. Why? They're clearly so in love -- praising one another constantly in interviews, and showing up hand-in-hand on every red carpet they can make it to -- and after breaking off her engagement to Ross McCall months before the big day, we know Hewitt can and will commit. Do you think they'll be headed to the altar this year?

Comfy, but Stylish Flats for Dancing on Your Wedding Night? Yes! (We Found Them!)

Soles_580

When The Game star Tia Mowry married longtime love Cory Hardrict (Lincoln Heights) last spring in a fairytale ceremony at the Biltmore Hotel in Santa Monica, we thought we read (and wrote) about all the lovely details. Well we were wrong. We missed a fabulous little secret she kept on her feet during the reception: After donning an ivory silk tulle gown and Jimmy Choos platforms for the ceremony, looking to party her heart out, the bride slipped into a Kevan Hall cocktail dress and a pair of Spare Soles slippers for her Mid Summers’ Night Dream themed reception. I wish every bride knew about these handy slippers, designed to be worn when you’re over your heels, and for the woman who wants comfort and style on her wedding night. Designer Andrea Padilla is the genius behind the idea and the creator of the line. They’re flats, but they’re way more stylish than those flip-flops you usually throw on and classier than going barefoot in your wedding gown. And did we mention they’re affordable too? Pick your size and get a pair for anywhere between $15 and $29. (Don’t forget to get your bridesmaids some too! Their feet will love you for it.)

25 Things You Didn't Know About the Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Wedding

Ashley_Pete_JaimeMcCarthyGetty88674761Each week we're going to pay tribute to our favorite celebrity weddings by sharing 25 things (maybe) didn't know about recent hot Hollywood weddings. This week, is all about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz' fabulous spring wedding!

1. Pete proposed to Ashlee with a vintage-style 4 ct. asscher cut diamond in a pave setting.
2. It was an at-home wedding held on May 17th, 2008. The ceremony took place at her parents' home in Encino, California.
3. The pair enlisted the help of celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss for their wedding.
4. There were over 150 guests in attendance, celebrity couple Nicole Richie and Joel Madden being among them. 5. Their evening ceremony began at 6pm.
6. The ceremony was held in a white tent erected over the family pool. 7. It was a non-denominational ceremony officiated by the brides father Joe Simpson.
8. The theme of the wedding was Alice in Wonderland, the bride's favorite fairytale story!
9. To introduce their theme the bride and groom sent out red and black save-the-dates that read: “It’s getting late so save the date: Ashlee & Pete, join us May 17, 2008, Los Angeles. Transportation will be provided to the wedding. You will be contacted with additional information.” The rest of the wedding details were communicated to guests through private texts and e-mails to avoid paparazzi catching word.
10. The bride was actually three months pregnant with their son Bronx Mogsley Wentz on her wedding day.
11. Her wedding gown was ivory and lace and created by celebrity designer Monique Lhuillier.
12. Ashlee wore a cathedral length veil. (See photos of real brides in their veils and other wedding accessories here.) 13. Pete's tuxedo was designed by Dior Homme.
14. The groom's bulldog Hemingway was the ring bearer and also wore a canine tuxedo for the occasion!
15. Her five beautiful bridesmaids wore black Vera Wang cocktail length gowns. (Celebrity big sis Jessica Simpson was her maid of honor.)
16. The couple chose an aisle runner designed to look like a bed of roses. (It's a fake, but you'd never know it. Here's where to find them!)
17. A string quartet played The Beatles’ “Blackbird" as the bride walked down the aisle. (“First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes was their first dance song.)
18. The bride's mother and groom's father let a unity candle together.
19. The tent used for their reception was red and black and filled with 10,00 black magic roses imported from Ecuador. The table Pete and Ashlee sat at (in heart-shaped chairs) was decorated with teapots and saucers filled with red roses and hot pink hydrangeas by florist.
20. The bride slipped into a black silk tulle Monique Lhuillier dress to part at her reception, and celebrity hair-stylist and family BFF Ken Paves styles her locks into a sassy side ponytail to match the look.
21. The reception dinner was a three course meal catered by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, and while they waited guests munched on sushi rolls and mini hamburgers appetizers that were handed out on trays designed to look like playing cards.
22. The reception was designed to look like an outdoor lounge. Guests sat on giant white couches with matching ottomans. (There was a photo booth too!)
23. Tequilla shooters were served at the reception in little glass bottles that read "Drink Me", to accompany the wonderland theme, and on the way out cookies that read "Eat Me" were handed out as favors.
24. In lieu of gifts the couple requested that donations be made to Invisible Children, a non-profit group they support. (To setup your own charity registry on WeddingChannel.com click here.)
25. The happy couple spent their first night together as man and wife in a safari style tent on a hill at the home, where they made smores together, then left the morning for a five-day honeymoon in Turks and Caicos at luxurious hotspot Parrot Cay.

Find Whimsical Cake Inspiration from a Celebrity Cake Baker

072809butterflies

When Mariah Carey began planning her secret Bohemian wedding to now-hubby Nick Cannon she wanted her wedding cake to be both perfect and private, so she called on celebrity cake baker Margaret Braun. Braun created a stunningly beautiful white four chocolate blackout cake covered in bittersweet chocolate–toffee ganache and decorated with white sugar bows, butterflies, and gold leaves for the bride, and rumor has it Mrs. Cannon was so protective of this sugary masterpiece she actually flew to the island with it resting in the seat beside her.

Cakewalkbook_125Carey’s wedding cake was just a whimsical wonderland of beauty, and it really added something special to an otherwise simple and intimate beach wedding. Clearly Braun knows her stuff: She’s been called “A Sugar Extraordinaire” by Food and Wine, and “the Guru of Wedding Cakes” by New York Magazine. Most recently Braun created one of the cakes featured in Bride Wars, starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. Sure, booking a celebrity cake baker like her might cost more than you care to spend on your wedding cake (she’s been known to fly with her cakes when they’re delivered to her clients!), but letting her beautiful work inspire you to envision your own cake concept will only cost you about 40 bucks! I’m talking about purchasing her critically acclaimed book Cakewalk: Adventures in Sugar with Margaret Braun, which is packed from cover to cover with gorgeous photos of amazing cakes and fascinating behind the scenes insight. Use it for fantasy like cake inspirations for your wedding, then as a coffee table book after the face, since these cakes are clearly works of art. Let your mind take the journey with Braun through cake paradise, and I bet you’ll come out on the other side with a fantasy cake idea (or two!) that fits your personal or wedding style.

And, if you’re into butterflies as much as Mariah Carey is, check out these pretty (and affordable!) 5-in. Swarovski CrystalEmbellished Butterflies for your wedding cake, available in various colors for just $15 from AdvantageBridal.com. They’re sure to instantly transform a simple cake into A-List eye-candy. We suggest setting up a faux garden on one of the tiers and letting the butterflies rest there.

Check out the Bachelorette’s New Bling

Bacherlottering
As you, and perhaps the rest of the universe (thanks to the obsessive media coverage), now know, last night on The Bachelorette finale, a giddy Jillian Harris accepted businessman Ed Swiderski’s marriage proposal. She let out a little squeal after he revealed the $60,000 Neil Lane sparkler that he had chosen for her. (Shown here – oh so fabulous, right?) Is Jillian satisfied with her choice? She said: “Ed is the person that I am meant to be with. I can see him in my life long-term. Forever.” We’ll see how long this lasts. No offense to Jillian! We do wish them the best, but there hasn’t been much happily-ever-after attached to reality TV love connections these days. So we'll have to stay tuned on this one. In the meantime, check out the full recap from The Insider for more juicy finale details and photos.

A Couples’ Crazy Dance Down the Aisle is Making You Tube History

Weddingdancefinal

Picture this: You’re sitting in a church at a wedding awaiting the start of the ceremony. Suddenly two groomsman burst into choreographed dance as they head down the aisle with the rest of the bridal party following suit. (Oh, and forget the traditional “Canon in D.” This group’s rockin’ to Chris Brown’s “Forever”!) The routine culminates with the entire wedding party completing a matrix-esque group routine. So now you’re thinking: What kind of wedding is this? A pretty cool one, we must say – thought up by newlyweds Jill and Kevin Heinz. On July 19, the couple uploaded the video of their wedding processional on YouTube.

Now, their wacky ceremony has gone viral and is quickly becoming one of the top You Tube videos of all time, causing morning shows to fight over booking the group for appearances and surely spawning what are sure to be quite a few copy cat ceremonies to come. (If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re really missing out – stop what you’re doing and go watch it now!) Then tell us whether or not you’d ever consider doing the same. We want to know - is this dance tacky or fun? Would you ever boogie down in a church that way? Or do you think it’s disrespectful?

Newlyweds Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum Get Matching Tattoos – Would You?

Channing_tatum_jenna_dewan_honeymoonIn case you missed it, Jenna Dewan recently tweeted about her honeymoon in Bali with new hubby Channing Tatum. The bad news: “Chan got sooooo sick...so our mini moon was really like 2 days”, she tweets. The Good: The pair had time to get matching tattoos that mean “side by side in Balinese” in honor of their new life together. Back when newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon got matching tattoos, we asked if you thought doing so is a jinx, and you didn’t seem to think so. So, we ask again – should they, or shouldn’t they have made such a permanent declaration of love? Thoughts?

Trade in Your Veil for a (Gorgeous!) Nature Inspired Headband

Twigsandhoneyheadbands

When Brooke Mueller married Charlie Sheen the happy couple threw an intimate, nature-inspired spring wedding. Mueller wore an ivory Reem Acra gown with a headdress made of twigs and woven wildflowers -- a smart hair accessory pick for the bride looking to add a touch of a nature to her wedding day look, that will also double as a show-stopping accessory. For no more than (or maybe even less than!) what you might pay for that fancy veil you've been eyeing you can have a faux or real floral headband designed to match your dress or wedding style.

We love this custom version of the Woodland Headband from Twigs & Honey, an online boutique run by an accessory designer in Salem-Portland Oregon, and a popular favorite on Etsy. This headband is adorned with gorgeous silk flowers, and we think it would go perfectly with gorgeous garden wedding details, don't you? And, if you love it, but were hoping to stick to an all-white ensemble, check out this lovely made to order version (right), made with silk taffeta petals, goose biots, goose nagoire feather, millinery flowers, stamens, beads, tulle, and alencon lace sewn onto a hand wrapped satin covered headband -- available online now for just $80.
