This Just In: Mandy Moore’s a Married Woman

Leave it to the self proclaimed “queen of all media” Perez Hilton to give us our hottest wedding scoop of the week. Today he released an exclusive report saying actress Mandy Moore and fiancé Ryan Adams wed on Tuesday in a “simple” ceremony in Savannah, Georgia.

One of the bride’s good friends told Perez that she’s “very, very happy” so let’s hope there are more wedding details to follow. Stay tuned brides!

Jessica Alba: The Media Ruined My Wedding

Newlywed actress Jessica Alba finally spoke out about her surprise city hall wedding in the March 2009 issue of ELLE Magazine, of which she also graces the cover. Alba already has a reputation for being not-so-nice and in this issue she vented to an interviewer, saying that her secret wedding to now-hubby Cash Warren (whom she met on the set of Fantastic Four) was ruined by the media.

Alba complained that last year the rest of the world knew about her May 19thwedding before her mother and father because the person who witnessed her marriage documents at the Beverly Hills Courthouse in Los Angeles immediately spoke to reporters, who then rushed the story to publication. Instead of placing blame on the person who blabbed to the media, Alba chose to generalize. She stated that, “journalists feel entitled to do whatever it takes to get a sensational story.”

I have mixed feelings about Alba’s statement. It’s back to the public versus private life issue celebs are always tossing back and forth. In American culture the celebrity spotlight follows you into even the darkest of places and secrets are notoriously ill-kept. It would be awful to not have the opportunity to tell your own family you’ve just married, however, I have to ask the obvious question - why not just tell mom and dad up front? Heck! Why not invite them to the ceremony! Blaming the media for a preventable incident is shaky at best and bashing the entire journalistic community is a little much, no? We love you anyway, Jessica.

Kendra Wilkinson Says Hef Will "Not" Walk her down the Aisle

Newly engaged former playboy bunny and Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson has announced that her ex boyfriend old-man-friend, and ultimate playboy, Hugh Hefner will “not” be walking her down the aisle for her upcoming wedding to NFL star Hank Baskett, as previously speculated. Instead, her brother will do the honors. The wedding is set to take place at the Playboy Mansion on June 27th.

In November E! Online quoted The Hef on giving Wilkinson his blessing on her upcoming nuptials, and he went on to announce that he would indeed be walking his ex down the aisle. Although Kendra responded by saying she’d “love” to have Hef do so, she has changed her tune recently telling US Magazine that it “would mean a lot to her family” if her brother was the one accompanying her instead.

I’m going to have to say great call on this one, Kendra. Having your ex-boyfriend walk you down the aisle while the show about your life together is still airing on TV may not be the best way to start a marriage, even if he is used to sharing.

Heidi Montag Gives Spencer Pratt Pre-Wedding Present

Photos of Heidi Montag draped coyly over a cherry-red Camaro SS have been popping up all over the web in the last few days. The Hills star presented fiancé Spencer Pratt with the muscle-car complete with a big red bow and a spontaneous public photo shoot last week.

This was potentially a very sweet gesture, except we’re talking about a post-fake wedding/pre-real wedding gift here. Ah yes, if you’ll remember correctly the two eloped in Mexico last year (a shocking, impromptu decision conveniently caught on tape thanks to talented MTV psychics). Soon after returning to the U.S. the couple discovered their Mexican nuptials would not be legally recognized in the States, but still somehow managed to pull off an US Weekly cover AND a 3-page in-book spread.

We’re not sure a pre-nuptial gift is such a good idea for this constantly on-again-off-again pair, especially given the early expiration of many recent young Hollywood love connections. Not to mention with such flashy gift-giving starting already, the big day is sure to be a media blitz (although the planning should be low-key, tune into The Hills to watch every second).

Listen up all you reality TV fans! Remember Jen Schefft, who got engaged to millionaire Andrew Firestone on The Bachelor, then split from him only to become the next star of The Bachelorette and pass on both guys in the finale?
