Jamie Lynn Spears Cancels Wedding

Jamie_spears_wedding The celebrity gossip spotlight has once again moved away from Britney Spears and back on her ‘lil sis Jamie Lynn Spears. She has called off her upcoming wedding to fiancé Casey Aldridge, says Ok Magazine. The couple apparently is “still in love, living together and very happy,” but has no plans to marry any time soon.

Jamie Lynn, who starred previously in Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101,” first caught the media’s attention (as well as mortified mothers of teenage girls worldwide) when she announced she was pregnant in December of 2007. She was just 16 at the time, Casey was 18. The two have had very public ups and downs but have been quietly raising daughter Maddie together at their home in Louisiana for the last few months.

This is a difficult situation to navigate in several ways. Unmarried couples successfully raise children all the time, but Jamie Lynn and Casey are so young. I’m not sure which side to take here. Could getting married help Jamie Lynn and Casey solidify their commitment to each other or is having Maddie enough? And even more directly, are they too young to be getting married in the first place?

Drunk Driving Lands Bride Behind Bars

Arrestedbridetobe

Occasionally a bride takes it upon herself to provide us with a shining example of what NOT to do on your wedding day. Texas bride Jade Puckett happens to have that not-so-great honor this week. Not to go all Mean Girls here but this she has committed a major wedding etiquette issue, so let me recap what happened for you:

After a full night of celebrating at their reception newlyweds Jade and Billy Puckett left the party around midnight and were driving to their honeymoon suite at a local hotel when they were pulled over. The duo was obviously tipsy and Billy was charged with driving while intoxicated. Here’s the kicker, Jade was in the clear until she became “belligerent” with the officer, after mouthing-off she was charged with public intoxication. Um, hello! Blame the sass on the booze if you must, but please, everyone knows not to argue with a cop!

While awaiting a hearing with a justice of the peace Jade was put into a cell with 15-20 women and was not allowed to change her clothes. She claims that while she was in the cell, male guards kept bringing other jailers and guards to have a look at her. While this is certainly not kind behavior you have to admit a bride in full wedding attire behind bars is a spectacle.

What can we learn from Mrs. Pluckett’s mistake? If you are serving alcohol, hire transportation for your reception night! If your budget won’t allow for a limo or party bus, call a local cab service or commission a sober member of the wedding party, a guest, or even the pastor to take you to your hotel. We know after all that toasting and celebrating it may seem as though everyone is half in the glass and driving yourself is the best option, but no ma’am, that’s not the way! If worse comes to desperate grab a member of the catering crew or custodial staff at the venue and slip them a $20 for a lift!

Mrs. Pluckett is said to be mortified that a photo of her in her wedding dress in a courtroom (probably won't see that one in the wedding album!) is making its way around the internet. Understandably, so, but better in a courtroom than a hospital bed, no? Don’t let yourself be the subject of our next post, ladies. Live it up on your big night but plan on having transportation available when the party ends.

Get Natasha Bedingfield’s Wedding Style

Natasha_bedingfield

Last weekend, singer Natasha Bedingfield married businessman Matthew Robinson in California. The pair became man and wife in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Here’s the download on her wedding style:

The Location: The wedding took place at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu (Fergie and Josh Duhamel were also married there in January) overlooking the ocean at the chateau – shown here.

The Dress: Bedingfield wore a gorgeous strapless, white, couture gown with an A-line skirt by Vera Wang. Looking for something similar for your wedding day? Consider this pretty strapless, scoop-neck modified A-line gown, also from Vera Wang, with fused lace appliqué, pleated bias border, and a draped skirt, veiled with french tulle.

The Bridesmaids: Her four bridesmaids wore Amethyst dresses from Jasmine B2 (Style B1095). Jasmine actually worked directly with Natasha's assistant to get these gowns for her wedding!

The Ceremony Décor & Flowers: The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and walked down an aisle sprinkled with rose petals to Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March”. Looking for great bouquet inspirations? Check out our favorite white bouquets!

Newlyweds Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady Plan to Marry Again in Costa Rica

Gisele_tom_costa_rica

Apparently newlyweds Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady aren’t quite done saying “I do” yet. The pair, who were married during an intimate church ceremony back in February, are inviting friends and family to a two-day wedding celebration in Costa Rica, reports People.com.

The groom’s New England Patriots teammates are on the guest list, along with the brides A-list model friends. According to the mag’s sources, the new Mr. and Mrs. Brady will host a dinner on Friday, April 3rd, and another ceremony and reception that Saturday. Interesting choice for the couple who insited all those “they’re having an extravagant wedding” rumors were totally false. Sources say they will still keep things pretty intimate, but with a guest list rumored to be close to 150 people, I’m not sure I’m buying it. That said, I’d just love to see this power pair take on the infamously over-the-top TomKat wedding. Wouldn’t you? Stay tuned for more details...

Wedding Planning Woes for Amy Adams

Amy_adams_GJM_84981680_10 It's seems Sunshine Cleaning star Amy Adams (who you'll remember as the clueless princess in Enchanted) is a little behind uninspired when it comes to planning her upcoming wedding to actor Darren Le Gallo.

Adams and Le Gallo got engaged in July of last year but she has yet to begin any wedding planning. When asked by a Reuters's reporter if she has a "'dream wedding in mind" the actress replied, "Hopefully, I can move forward on that in the next couple of months. I think if I had some kind of dream, it would be easier. That's been part of the problem."

Hmmm, with all the resources stars have at their fingertips I must say I'm surprised someone hasn't chimed in with some ideas for Adams. Let's hope she doesn't channel her Enchanted experience with a fairy-tale worthy ball gown complete with ultra-poofy sleeves and layers of tulle. (Yikes!)

Thanks to a lucky reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle who nabbed an interview with Adams, we do have some idea of what she wants for her big day. The interviewer asked if Adams had read anything false about herself lately and she said, "I supposedly want a huge wedding. It's an example of how things are taken out of context. I just want it to be intimate with the big family." (She has six siblings!)

With so little to go on it might seem daunting to begin planning such an important day. Lucky for Amy, I have some suggestions. I picture a destination wedding at a villa in Italy (she was born there). The guest list should be small, her large family, Le Gallo's family, and a few close friends. She would be stunning in a fitted lace gown with a sweep train -- I recommend Jim Hjelm, (my FAVE designer at the moment). The reception can be held at a nearby vineyard with a family-style dinner of pasta with olives, fresh Italian bread and an abundance of fantastic Italian wine. Bride, groom and guests can finish the night on a sweet note with classic Italian Cream Cake, cannoli and champagne.

Do you have ideas for Amy Adams' upcoming nuptials? We’d love to hear ‘em. Comment below!

Keepsake Idea: Get A Custom Sketch of Your Wedding Dress

Dreamlines

When it comes to choosing a wedding gown, celebrity brides will almost always go the custom route. A starlet will likely see her gown first on paper as a sketch done by the designer hoping to land the sell/ (Check out Eva's sketch here!). After the wedding, these one-of-a-kind drawings become creative keepsakes to have and to hold. In keeping with our favorite hobby, bringing star treatment to you, we offer mydreamlines.com, a sweet little find. The website offers custom bridal gown sketches done by artists in the South of France. C'est Tres Magnifique, no?

The pencil and paper sketches are done according to a photo that you mail to the artists. The finished products are roughly 8 1/2 X 11 to 9 X 12 and come in black and white, or ivory, unless you specify you’d like a “splash” of color. Fabulous Bonus Alert: You can even order drawings of your bridesmaid dresses or smaller sketches of your accessories (veil, bouquet, etc…)

We know you wedding warriors will go to incredible lengths to get that perfect dress (woe to the woman standing in your way at the gown sample sale!) It’s a shame that your flawless frock will disappear into storage after the big day. A custom sketch allows you to stare lovingly at your dress for as long as you like, and it makes a gorgeous keepsake for your wedding album.

Go a step further and make replicas of the sketch to include on programs, menus, or thank-you notes.

Designer Marc Jacobs is Engaged!

Marc_Jacobs_240 Fashion power-player Marc Jacobs is engaged to his boyfriend of nearly a year, ad executive, Lorenzo Martone. WWD.com confirms that the two made their public debut as a betrothed couple today when they landed in Martone’s native Brazil wearing matching rings. They will be spending some time in Sao Paolo celebrating the opening of a new Marc Jacobs multi-brand store.

No word on when (or where) the couple will marry. My guess is there’s a lavish destination wedding in the future for this happy pair, since a stateside ceremony wouldn’t be legally recognized. Martone may already have a spot in mind. Usmagazine.com reports that after gushing to reporters at Paris Fashion Week last year about a fabulous vacation he and Jacobs took to St. Barth’s he ended with, “Maybe a New Year's Eve wedding in St. Barth's would be really fun." But can they wait that long? Quickie engagements are becoming the newest trend in Hollywood weddings. (See: Giselle and Tom, Mandy and Ryan.)

Even though the wedding locale and date are still a mystery, our favorite media queen, Perez Hilton says the two have already chosen a newlywed nest in New York City’s West Village. The trendy townhouse digs will cost the two about $13 million (what recession!?).

With all these surprise engagements and secret weddings I’m in a bit of suspense wondering which PDA pair will be next! One thing is for sure, when we know, you’ll know! Until then...

Mena Suvari’s Big Wedding Dress Dilemma

Mena_suvari_wedding_GettyImages_85413171If you’re a bride-to-be hoping to hide your many tattoos from your more conservative family members on your wedding day, actress Mena Suvari can relate. According to AceShowbiz.com, the actress, who’s engaged to music producer Simone Sestito, recently revealed that she’s going for a custom made wedding gown that will hopefully hide her various tattoos.

Why so shy about her body art all of a sudden? She wants to be respectful of her future hubby’s family members.

“I think it would be considerate to [his] family to have my tattoos covered, since there are two nuns on his mother’s side of the family.”

We think that’s a good call, Mena! It’s always nice to start your marriage off on the right foot with the family. Suvari has also recently been quoted as saying that her wedding will happen sometime next year because she and her fiancé want to make sure the moment is as special as it should be. The pair met at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007 and got engaged in July 2008. This Suvari’s second marriage – she was previously married to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann.
