Salma Hayek’s Valentine’s Day Wedding

SalmaHayekHeadShotFGAG_81183370 Actress/producer Salma Hayek proved she was definitely “on again” with French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault – the couple secretly tied the knot at the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in central Paris on Valentine’s Day, reports People. The couple, who began dating in 2007, and announced their engagement in 2008 prior to the birth of their daughter Valentina, separated last July. While Hayek never confirmed a reconciliation with Pinault, a source tells the mag that the Ugly Betty producer travelled to Paris in September and November of last year for business and during that time, the couple reunited. “They were ‘very evidently in love with each other, very affectionate in public’ together at the Dubai Film Festival in December.”

This is a first marriage for the actress and a second for Pinault, who has two children from a previous relationship.

Mandy Moore Engaged to Ryan Adams

Mandy_moore_JSTWG_83658151 First they were on, then they were off, then she was rumored to be back with a different ex, and now she’s not only back with this ex, she’s engaged! Mandy Moore’s love life reads like a complicated soap opera, but (hopefully) this sweet and talented actress/singer will find happiness with singer Ryan Adams. News broke this week that the couple (who split last summer but reconnected over Christmas) are now engaged to be married.

A close friend of Moore’s tells Life & Style that, "She is so excited about their engagement but admits it's been a whirlwind. She's really happy."

Both Moore and her rep have confirmed the engagement, but aren’t spilling any details – yet.

Purrfectly Naughty Makeup for Brides

Mac_hello_kitty_nars_580

Whether you’re shopping around for your own wedding day style essentials, or simply a bridesmaid looking for something fun to give the bride at her bachelorette party, makeup usually isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. After all, how can makeup be pretty, funny, sexy and scandalous all at once? Well, two makeup companies are attempting to prove otherwise.

MAC Hello Kitty Collection: ($11-$38)
Are you a quirky bride that loves bright colors and counts Hello Kitty as one of your Facebook friends (or is that just me and Mariah Carey?). MAC Cosmetics (home to celebrity spokespeople like Fergie and Dita Von Teese) is ready to rock your world with a full line of Hello Kitty Cosmetics for Mild or Wild girls. The colors are loud, the products are brash, and if you can’t see yourself sporting bright turquoise eye shadow while walking down the aisle, consider it as a really fun gift to give your bridesmaids.

NARS Safer Multiple Orgasm Set: (Sephora, $37)
No it doesn’t come with batteries or carry any raunchy recommendations, but the NARS Safer Multiple Orgasm Set does have a multi-purpose. It comes with its famous Multiple in Orgasm peach shimmer stick (good for eyes, lips, and cheeks) and two discretely wrapped condoms. This is one party gift your bride will use and it’s for a good cause: A portion of sales from this product goes to amfAR, The American Foundation for AIDS Research (a program designed to promote global safe sex education and initiatives).

Kristy Swanson and Llyod Eisler Say “I Do”

Kristy_swanson_eisler_wedding Skating with Celebrities champs Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler tied the knot on Saturday in San Luis Obispo, California, reports People. Swanson, best known for her starring role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, and Eisler, an Olympic figure skater, revived their careers in 2006 with a winning turn on the FOX reality show. Here’s the breakdown on their big day:

The Attire: The bride wore an ivory strapless gown from Amy Michelson and shoes by Carmen Steffens, while the groom chose a Nicole Miller tux.

The Ceremony : One hundred of the pair’s closest friends and family attended their wedding. (At a local unnamed hotel.) "We wanted to celebrate Lloyd and I coming together as a family," says Swanson. To symbolize a family boutique, the couple’s children (one they had together, and two from Eisler’s previous relationship) placed individual flowers in a vase. ETIQUETTE NO-NO ALERT: The groom’s cell went off towards the end of the ceremony because he forgot to turn it off. (We know you want to get all your “congrats” texts from the guests who couldn’t make it, but this is an easy one to avoid, ladies. Put your phone on vibrate the minute you enter the venue!)

The First Dance: They cut a rug to “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain, which was also one of their performance songs from the show.

The Menu: Guests feasted on filet mignon while the couple made their memorable cut into a four-tier wedding cake.

The Prep: Swanson credits The Medifast Diet with helping her lose 45 pounds before her wedding as well as a steady schedule of martial arts, jumping rope and the treadmill.

Grammy Red Carpet Accessory: Cuff Bracelets

Bracelets020909

They were fierce, they were fabulous, and they were totally of-the-moment. Nope, I’m not talking about all the dresses as last night’s 51st Grammy Awards (although someone should talk to M.I.A.’s stylist for sure), but rather the bold accessory that many stars sported while walking the red carpet – a cuff bracelet.

Statement jewelry is definitely in this season – especially big cuffs, large earrings, and glamorous brooches. Celebs like Taylor Swift and Sheryl Crow (both in Lorriane Schwartz cuffs), and The HillsAudrina Patridge stepped out in bold cuff bracelets that ran the gamut from traditional elegance to modern chic. Not sure which style fits your bridal aesthetic? Here’s some quick tips:

Traditional Brides: Stick to diamonds, pearls, or brilliant gems like sapphires or emeralds. This AZAARA antique finish cuff with crystals from Fragments ($300) is the perfect accessory for a simple, strapless mermaid or ball gown.

Romantic Brides: Delicate embellishments with a vintage feel is always a great starting point. I absolutely love the retro 40’s–meets-Morrocan style of this Ben Amun gold disc link bracelet from Intermix ($375).

Modern Brides: Pick non-traditional stones and colors that pop. Turquoise is everywhere this season, making this turquoise sequin beaded flower stretch bracelet from Nordstrom ($98) the perfect fit for a simple, minimalist style.

Cake_mania_ipod_250 It seems like everyone from our favorite celebs to our fellow commuters have an iPod or iPhone permanently attached to their hands, and I can’t say I blame them! (What can't you do on those things!?) iTunes now offers games that can be downloaded directly to your iPod and today they released one with a fun bridal twist (our new favorite, naturally).

Cake Mania 3 is a sweet little creation from Apple and Sandlot games that follows Jill, the cake-baker, as she tries to run a successful business and prepare for her impending wedding day -- all while traveling (and baking) through time! Become the master baker while completing over 80 levels in one of six different bakeries. You’ll have to churn out yummy confections while pleasing an array of charismatic clientèle, and meeting your daily sales goal. You can customize your bakery, order new equipment and even choose from six different eras to establish your bakery in.

The game is frenzied and furiously entertaining. All of you multi-tasking brides and brides-to-be should make the perfect bakers. After all, I’m guessing by now you’ve got cakes (and invites and table linens and place settings, and well you know the rest) down to a science. Cake Mania 3 is available for download on iTunes and costs just $4.99.

RUMOR: Jennifer Hudson May Wed on Valentine's Day

Jennifer_hudson_david2

The blogosphere is buzzing today with news that a Valentine’s Day beach wedding is in the works for Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson and her fiancé, David Otunga.

The couple, both natives of Chicago, had been dating less than a year when Otunga presented Hudson with a 5-carat Neil Lane diamond sparkler last year on her 27th birthday. Otunga, a Harvard Law School-educated attorney, is best known for his stint on the reality show I Love New York 2, during which he took on the nickname “Punk.”

Sources from the National Enquirer (sketchy, we know!) reveal that Hudson’s good friend and talk show host extraordinaire, Oprah Winfrey, has offered up her estates in Montecito, California and Maui, Hawaii as possible locations for the wedding. It’s been reported that Hudson wants an outdoor ceremony and is leaning toward a Hawaiian destination wedding.

The couple had planned on tying the knot late last year until tragedy struck Hudson’s family in the form of the much-publicized murders of her mother, brother and nephew in October.

After avoiding the public eye for several months following the loss of her family members, Hudson made an inspiring re-entry into the spotlight by singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIII. The National Enquirer reports that Otunga has been Hudson’s greatest support throughout the crisis and that the couple is ready to move past the pain of her loss toward wedded bliss.

However, some fans and bloggers are hinting that the couple should stall wedding plans for a few more months to allow more time to heal. Is it too soon for Hudson to deal with all the new challenges marriage brings while still healing from the trauma of the last couple months? Tell us what you think!
