Waterford Wedgewood Files for Bankruptcy

Cwb_macys_250_3 First, Saks bridal salon closes, now comes word today that Waterford Wedgewood, a favorite of Hollywood elite, has filed for bankruptcy.

The 250 year old British company said in a statement that they were actively searching for a buyer to keep them afloat. “Waterford, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton are quintessentially classic brands that represent a high quality product which is steeped in history," the administrators said in a prepared statement. "The administration team will be working closely with management, customers and suppliers during this time to ensure operations continue whilst a sale of the business is sought."

Translation: If you have any Waterford crystal and Wedgewood china on your registry, you might want to talk to your registry retailer about how this may impact their return or exchange policy.
