Here’s some more celebrity holiday engagement news for all you Dancing With the Stars fans out there. Dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are engaged, confirms People.

The happy pair had only been dating for six months when Chmerkovskiy asked her to marry him on New Year’s Eve in Vegas. The couple celebrated the start of 2009 at the luxe Wynn Hotel. Look for them on the DWTS winter tour.

Smirnoff split from longtime beau Mario Lopez earlier that year – we’re guessing because he wasn’t ready, and she, clearly, is. Congrats guys – we can’t wait to read about what we’re sure will be a very, very memorably first dance.
