"Project Runway" Alum Weighs in on Bridal Challenge
We were super-excited a few weeks back when one of our favorite shows,Project Runway, finally did another wedding day challenge (we've had to wait four seasons for another one!). Bridesmaids dresses were the flavor of the day, and while our favorite contestant Jerell didn't win, we were still impressed with the results.
So impressed in fact, we couldn't resist stalking former Project Runway alum and Kenneth Pool designer Austin Scarlett to get his opinion of the challenge and his thoughts on super-studious Leanne's major win. Happily, he let us steal him away from his show at Bridal Fashion Week to offer his two cents.
"Wedding couture is difficult," Scarlett explained. "Even I didn't do well when we had a wedding dress challenge during Season 1. It involves a lot of complicated construction that doesn't mesh well with extreme time constraints."
As far as the winning designer is concerned, this wedding wiz says he's Team Leanne all the way.
"I was definitely impressed with her work when I judged earlier in the season, so I was happy to see her win," he admits.
