Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown Plans Vow Renewal in Egypt, Sends Guests 11-Page Invite

Melaniebrown After talk about a second wedding for Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown (of Spice Girls and Dancing With the Stars fame) and her producer hubby Stephen Belafonte (who married in June 2007) surfaced in early August, fans of the notoriously high-maintenance diva wondered just how over-the-top the ceremony would be. Well, if they made the guest list, it looks like they got their answer this week. The happy couple sent their close friends an “11-page invite” to the extravagant ceremony they plan to hold in Egypt later this year, a source tells New York Post’s Page Six. (Pause for reaction!) Apparently the couple came up with the idea to hold a second ceremony as a fundraiser of sorts, since they’re hoping to sell the pictures from the event to the highest bidder. I guess that’s where the 11-page contract (because I refuse to call it an invitation) comes in, which the source says was very “ornate and detailed.”

The paper’s gossip source continues: "Everyone has to sign an agreement to be photographed and videotaped. Mel is going to be selling the pictures to a magazine for as high a price as she can get."

One word, Scary Spice: TAC-KY!!! My guess is, that with a clause like that, famous friends like The Beckhams and her sisters –in-spice, won’t likely go.

Is Melanie’s so-called invitation tacky, or to be expected? You tell us!!

Well, It is tacky to say the least... burdening your guests with a contract?! A simple invitation would do just fine. AFTER the wedding--prior to any pictures being sold which have the other particular guest(s) in the picture, she could easily have something signed by them at that time to give their permission to use their picture(s) with hers. Again, AFTER the event would have been a better idea.

What is the fundraiser in aid of? Will she just keep all the money? If so that would be crass, and completely disgusting. I could see if she was doing it for charity or something. Why doesn't she sell pictures of her first wedding? That's what ppl really want to see, not some fake shindig for the magazines. I've never heard of someone having a renewal ceremony less than 10 years after their wedding, a little over 1 is just (I'm at a loss for words to describe how awful it is). Wish her the best. How old is her baby by Eddie Murphy? The writer is correct, no one important will come and she won't be able to sell those pictures for free.

Practical my ASS, yes I said it. She is throwing this elegant wedding and really cannot afford it so to make money she will sell her photo's to the highest amount she can get, that is what the stars hide from, the camara, and tabloids, and she is going to put her event in the streets, so to speak? she really needs to take a seat and get quiet and be ortry to be a mother to her Eddie Murphy child.

Well, she is sending it to her "close" friends, isn't she? And it is supposed to be a fund-raiser event, not a "real" wedding. It makes sense to cover her bases where photography/publicity etc is concerned. She doesn't want to be caught in a tangle later on with any complaints; whoever attends will know what to expect....I say she's just being practical!
