The Ultimate Engagement Sites

Willyoumarrymeguy2

So you know how Seal proposed to Heidi Klum by sweeping her off for a helicopter ride and then rushing her off to an igloo of the middle nowhere ? Yeah, my boyfriend's not that kind of guy. While Tom Cruise may have the time, energy and major funding to propose on top of the Eiffel Tower, my sweetie isn't really into planning and usually leaves it up to me to schedule every aspect of our lives from weekly laundry duty to Saturday evenings out with friends.

Find yourself in the same boat? You don't have give up the idea of a romantic proposal -- you just have to point your guy in the right direction. Recently, many hotels, restaurants and other unexpected venues have started to offer proposal packages to take the stress out of popping the big question. From super-luxe showstoppers to small-but-creative spots, this is one list you definitely want your Prince Charming to look over!

Hotels: Resorts both big and small are offering up romantic packages for every budget. On the high end there's the Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel in New York City that offers a $13,000 proposal package that includes a $10,000 engagement ring of the groom's choice and other luxe essentials like a gorgeous room, premium champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and concierge service for help in setting up your Big Apple proposal spot. Is your groom working with a smaller budget? Head to the Jersey Shore for the ultimate B&B experience. The Seacrest by the Sea offers a $5,000 proposal package that includes a limo service, a deluxe suite, a gourmet picnic lunch, a personalized airplane banner asking for your hand in marriage, as well as many other romantic essentials.

Restaurants: Want to feel like a princess during your proposal? Look no further than the happiest place on Earth. Walt Disney offers the ultimate in fairytale engagements at Cinderella's Royal Table at Cinderella's Castle. Your significant other can schedule an enchanted breakfast, lunch, or dinner that includes an "engagement ring in a glass slipper, lying on a bed of fresh rose petals enclosed in a decorative platter with a dome lid. This is followed with a non-alcoholic champagne toast." (Did we mention the slipper is engraved with your name and date and comes with a photo of you and Cinderella?). If your guy is looking for a more sophisticated venue, The Vineyards Restaurant in San Antonio, TX, might fit the bill. Voted "Most Romantic Restaurant" in San Antonio, their proposal package includes a private table in the vineyards, flowers and champagne.

Alternative Sites If you're the kind of girl that's non-traditional, there are still many options depending on your personal taste and style. We love the fun simplicity of Maui's Ocean Center engagement package. For $175, your special someone can schedule a visit to the aquarium where a diver will greet you in one of the underwater exhibits with a "Will You Marry Me?" sign. Worried that an underwater proposal might leave you all wet? If the sky's the limit, have your guy treat you to Park City, Utah's Skywalker Balloon Company. The crew will not only help set the mood with any special proposal requirements, they'll also go as far as design a banner OR write a message in the snow you can view from new heights.

Hey, we're not suggesting you take matter into your hands, but a few well-placed hints never hurt (trust me, I know from personal experience).

It was the day before easter and I was sent on an easter egg hunt (totally normal for my family)
Unbeknownst to me I was the only one allowed to touch the pink eggs. All of the other colored plastic eggs had candy in them except for the pink ones. They contained scrabble letters. I opened all four eggs which together spelled out "will you marry me". He got on one knee with the ring box, asked again. I (of course said yes) and ripped the ring out of his hands before he could blink.
(I couldn't help it I was too excited)
My family jokes about (the snatch) to this date

My Engagement took place on October 29, 2008 the day before my birthday. I thought I was going to dinner with the girls the day before my birthday cause I would spend my birthday with my honey. When I arrived at the Burbon House my mom and sister was there and one by one my family and friends came in the end it was about 25 people. I still didn't think anything I just thought it was a surprise dinner they my "boyfriend" shows up and I still didn't think anything of it. Once dinner was over with I was the only person allowed to get dessert. Out comes my cheese cake with a candle in it. When the waitress puts the plate down its the most beautiful ring I had ever seen and written on the plate in chocolate was Will You Marry Me!!!! I was so shocked and I thought it was so original!!

My fiance was so thoughtful and did exactly what I always wanted, without my even knowing he was going to do it! I always wanted my engagement to be in front of a lot of people, with my family and friends looking on. It's such a huge moment and I wanted to share it with them. Aug 10th, Sunday morning, we all go to church. When we get there, he says he has to talk to Pastor and my dad. This is fairly normal as he and my Pastor were trying to work on a project together, and he and my daddy really get along. So I thought nothing of it. At the end of the service, Pastor says there's a young man here who'd like to say a few words, and I think he deserves our time. Low and behold he calls MY boyfriend up on stage. I'm kind of confused. He starts talking about something or other, I don't remember what...and then he calls ME on stage...now I'm REALLY confused. Once again he starts talking, and all I see, is him drop to one knee and I promptly burst into tears. IT WAS PERFECT. Caught on tape, my family and friends all watching on as he slips that ring on my finger. It was the sweetest proposal ever.
