KT Tunstall Weds in Traditional Scottish Ceremony

Last Saturday, Grammy-nominated singer KT Tunstall and her drummer boyfriend, Luke Bullen, wed in a traditional ceremony on the Isle of Skye, a remote island in Scotland.
After accepting Bullen’s proposal during a surprise visit to Scotland on Christmas Day, 2007, Tunstall planned an intimate ceremony for 150 of their closest friends and family that was sprinkled with Scottish traditions. The bride, 33, chose the Isle of Skye (pictured here) after vacationing there and falling in love with the destination’s natural serenity and beauty.
Britain’s Daily Mail reports that the couple’s guests began arriving as early as Thursday, and the bride and groom had to book two hotels to accommodate the five-day celebration. Family members attended the ceremony wearing traditional Scottish garb while others showed up in their best puffball skirts, bowler hats, retro suits, and guitar and sneaker combos. The bride wore a fitted silk strapless gown covered in crystals and chose simple jewelry to accent it. After exchanging vows in a marquee overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the pair kept to tradition by sharing a Scottish “wedding breakfast” of local beef and seafood with their guests. At the reception, Tunstall and Bullen were toasted with vintage champagne as they danced with guests to a live medley of 80s hits. Traditional Scottish folk music was played as well.
Tunstall’s not the first celerity bride to travel to Scotland to tie the knot -- Stella McCartney, Ashley Judd, and Madonna all held destination weddings there.
