Trendy Venue Option for Co-Ed Showers in the Windy City
NOTABLE CHICAGO HOTELThis post goes out to brides in or near the Chicago area – boy have I found a cool concept for you. Details about the newly renovated Hotel Sax Chicago (formerly the House of Blues Hotel and a frequent stop on Fergie’s windy city visits) found their way into my inbox recently, and I was blown away by the luxurious upgrade the property received and the ultra-luxe amenities now offered to guests.
As I read about all the newly-added goodies (that came along with the $25 million expansion) , all I could think about was how fitting the new property is for the ultimate Jack and Jill affair -- better known to some brides as the co-ed wedding shower. Finding a venue that can accommodate a larger group and still give off an intimate vibe can be the trickiest part of the planning process. The hotel’s new nightime hotspot, Crimson Lounge, with its small-plate menu, plush sofas, and red leather and Renaissance accents, would keep both sets of guests happily drinking the night away – in style. The Hotel Sax Chicago is directly next to the famous House of Blues , so we’re guessing this accounts for the eclectic, high energy crowd known for frequenting the sultry nightclub and grooving ‘til the early morning hours.
ADDED BONUS
Aside from being the epitome of sexy cool, (think snakeskin wing-back chairs and paisley embossed leather headboards), the hotel’s suites were made for the tech-savvy couple who craves play-time with friends. I recommend the “Microsoft Experience” for some serious his-and-her shower fun. Making Conde Nast Traveler’s Hot List 2008, these unique suites are stocked full of Microsoft-powered luxury entertainment-- select guestrooms feature Zune mp3 players and Xbox game stations adjacent to top-shelf mini bars and private dining menus. Plus, the entertainment lounge invites your guests to play, watch, listen, and relax. It seems this former House of Blues is making us feel positively green with envy.
