"Fall" For These Chic Wedding Details

Fall_details_montage

Is it just me, or does it seem like these days everyone is opting out of the classic summer wedding and embracing the notion of a beautiful fall event instead? From stars like Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo and Kate Walsh, to local brides like my friend Nicole (who's "fallen" head over heels in love with her orange and charcoal gray color palette), you can't help but notice a shift from bright, airy splashes of color to rich, deep textures and simple organic elements.

Personally, I love the idea of borrowing from nature to make a splash on your wedding day. Prepping for your own fall wedding? There’s still time to pick up those last minute essentials that will truly make your day stand out. (We already got started for you.) Whether you're saying your "I do's" in a barn or opting for an elegant evening at your local winery, these fall-inspired products deserve a second glance.

Fall Style: As a bride, you can't go wrong with vintage-inspired accessories. From antique lace to Victorian jewelry, subdued elegance is the look of the moment. We love this Etsy retro chic orange flower and peacock feather hairclip ($8.00) almost as much as these beautiful gold scalloped babydoll pumps from Oh Deer! ($115.00, piperlime.com).

Fall Ceremony Essentials: Flowers are always a nice touch, but rose petals might seem out of place as you're walking down the aisle in the middle of October. Many florists offer silk leaves as an alternative. You can also carry this theme over into your other ceremony with a autumn-themed ring pillow ($57.98, Things Festive)

Fall Reception Musts: Think nature-inspired elements like fruit, acorns and rich jewel-toned flowers. Get inspired by Flower Barn's festive pomegranate, sunflower and coffee berry table arrangement, but make sure you don't forget your guests: Fall brings to mind comfort food, so extend your thanks via yummy favors like beau-coup.com's personalized autumn-inspired cookies (3.95 each for petite; $5.95 each for large). Just make sure you wrap them up in a cute box with The Knot's Midori Satin Leaf Ribbon ($64.00 a roll) to achieve a cohesive theme throughout your entire reception.
