Fall Ceremony Trend: Barn Weddings

Firestone_barn_3

It’s a little bit country, a little bit casual, and a whole lot cheaper than your local country club. Barn weddings are taking the nation by storm, with many brides and grooms opting out of formal locations in exchange for the rustic intimacy of farm life.

Bachelor star Andrew Firestone chose to wed his wife, actress Ivana Bozilovic, in the pole barn on the property of his family home in Los Olivos, CA, on July 5, and while you may not have a barn so readily available, there’s quite a few options around the country that offer up plenty of pastoral charm.

Fearington Village (Pittsboro, NC)
The barn at this former dairy farm new Chapel Hill offers plenty of southern charm. Leave the garden for a glimpse down a cobblestone entryway that leads to a large, climate-controlled space complete with stage, catering and seating for up to 300 guests.

The Barn of Barrington (Barrington, IL)
Formally a working barn, this restaurant is now a elegant venue that resembles a French chateau chock full of charming architecture and unique antiques. Order the wedding package for you and your guests and the barn will provide fresh flowers for the guest tables, candelabras for the head table, candlesticks, table linens, white skirting, place cards  and a cake table.

White Rocks Inn (Wallingford, VT)
Relax at this New England country inn that’s famous for its historical gothic barn. Snuggled deep within  Otter Creek Valley, the inn offers up award-winning fine dining and antique limo service, while the barn itself boasts over 15,00 square feet, ornate wooden beams, and space for up to 200 guests.

Fairview Farms (Plano, TX) Thinking barbecue and baked beans over brioche or brie? The Corral Barn at Fairview Farms is the perfect party spot to host a rustic ranch-style wedding. The facility can host up to 350 people, and comes with a catering menu that includes local favorites like beef brisket, pulled pork, BBQ beans, potato salad, and fresh peach cobbler a la mode.

Check out the bride and groom's luxurious honeymoon locale.

This could be really beautiful. You could use fresh garland in natural greens, which are much more reasonably priced than fresh flowers.Tastefully decorated, however,a barn can be a wonderful venue for a memorable wedding.Restrooms are a must, and proper heating or cooling mechanisms should also be in place.

Yah, having a barn wedding is so much fun. It's also cheaper than spending it for more fabulous wedding celebration.

We are proud to have an affordable farm wedding site that is elegant & romantic in a very rustic setting. Our web site is www.cedarhillbarn.com and we are located in central WI.
Our post & beam cedar barn has the feeling of the 1870s with a massive stone walls and fireplace, plank oak floors, an antique tavern, completereplica kitchen, hickory harvest tables & antique chairs that seat 100, and we offer stoneware & goblet table settings. Grounds include a 5 acre lawn with over 100 trees, flower beds, a stone fence and pond setting (Plenty of room for larger weddings). We offer a beautiful setting for a tranquil wedding where guests can relax and get to know each other over lawn games, around the fire pit, or with a drink next to the fireplace. A change from the hotel setting, that your guests will talk about for years... and we have always lived and operated "green"!

The story of Roadside Romeo essentially has puns on different Bollywood actors and movies throughout- right from Shah Rukh Khan’ s way of raising his hands, to Saif Ali Khan’ s Kareena tattoo, to the railway station shot from the movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. And these keep you laughing. Plus the dialogues are funny enough to keep you in the mood. But the problem is that the story hardly moves till the intermission. Then the pace picks up considerably. Also none of the characters, except Charlie Anna,...

We were deciding between the country club and a barn wedding, and found that a barn wedding would actually cost DOUBLE what the country club would cost, so although it is simple and rustic, it is very expensive. The barn wedding can be expensive since you will have to arrange for off-site catering, more decorations, etc. - just something to keep in mind.

My reception will be in a barn! If you're looking for a romantic, rural get-away in the SW Michigan / Northern Indiana / Chicago area, the barn's about two hours from downtown Chicago.
