A-List Eats: Celebrity Wedding Receptions
Wondering how the other half celebrates when they say "I do?" If our informal research is any indication, celebrities seem to prefer to steak and seafood more so than any other reception menu items. While VIP's like first daughter Jenna Bush opted for a fusion feast that included Lump Gulf crab parfait and a dulce de leche wedding cake, most A-list brides and grooms seem to prefer basic wedding staples over exotic eats.
Sweet on Seafood: Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay chose seared Alaskan halibut, Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee feasted on roasted salmon (while singers Avril Lavigne and Deryk Wimbley enjoyed their salmon with basil risotto), Dixie Chick Martie Seidel went with sushi, and former Wonder Years star, Fred Savage sampled fillet of John Dory with figs and fava beans. There’s nothing "fishy" about these facts: The majority of these celebrity weddings took advantage of their close ocean locale when it came time to plan their reception menus.
Meat Lovers: Courteney Cox and David Arquette may have went with steak for their wedding in 1999, but Rebecca Romijin and Jerry O'Connell took it to the next level when they served lavender-grilled prime beef tenderloin at their July 2007. Lamb is also a top choice with stars: It headlined both Sex and the City star Kyle MacLachlan's and U2 guitarist The Edge's wedding receptions.
Backyard Barbecue: Some stars prefer to keep it casual when it comes to their reception fare. Sandra Bullock and Jesse James hosted a southern style barbecue with all the fixins, while Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder celebrated their Fourth of July wedding with hot dogs, lemon chicken, and corn on the cob.
