Ellen and Portia Tell Friends and Family to "Save the Date"

When Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson caught up with Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight and his boyfriend on the red carpet on Monday, the couple was happy to report that they had in fact received their first invite to a  gay wedding since California's recent historic decision to lift the ban on  same sex marriages.

"We're going to Ellen's wedding," said Knight. "We got a little save the date card."

Ever since Ellen Degeneres announced her plans to wed longtime girlfriend Portia De Rossi on her talk show, the support from her fans and friends has been tremendous. While taping a pre-recorded interview for the show, newlywed and first daughter Jenna Hager jokingly offered to let the couple hold their ceremony at the Bush family ranch.

"They're excellent people and we're really happy that we got invited," said Knight.

So will T.R. and his new love be sending out their own save-the-dates, anytime soon?

"Normally, six months is a little too soon," says Knight. "But, I'm happy to have the pressure."
