Blushing Brides

Trwg_79978279_8gwengavin Feeling flushed? Not since Gwen Stefani's stunning Galliano gown have so many brides been in the pink. This fall, at least four different designers are breaking the color barrier by offering dresses in varying pink hues. Hot trend or fashion no-no, we wondered.

"Technically, no, you don’t need to wear a white wedding dress," confirms wedding etiquette expert Peggy Post. "You may certainly wear a pink-hued gown – or one of different color – if you want to. Choosing a colorful dress is not wrong or hurtful; just consider the situation in its entirety before making your decision. An unusual color for a bridal gown could be upsetting to others, especially those in older generations such as a mother or grandmother. The potential upset to them may not be worth the thrill of a colorful dress."

Color me officially enlightened.
