(Black) Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend?

Third time may be the charm for Carmen Electra, but how does her black diamond engagement ring from fiance, Korn guitarist Rob Patterson rate?

Traditionally a black diamond was thought of as a man's stone, and is often used in settings for men's wedding bands. While black diamonds aren't considered as popular as other colored diamonds like pink or canary, recently they've seen a resurgence in Europe. Black diamonds tend to look best in platinum or titanium setting, but be careful if you’re in the market for one -- they're much cheaper if they're laboratory made. Not that Carmen has any reason to worry. Her 1.5-2-carat, black diamond solitaire with a platinum diamond band is estimated to be worth  $100,000.
